Just looking back at my last datalog about a yr ago (I have not made any changes to the car since), at cruising between 60-70mph, the AFR range is mostly between 13-15, with majority of the time in the 14.xx range.

So i guess most of you don't use non-foulers and just plug the rear o2 into the J connector?

my AFR is in the 12 range when it's WOT. Should cruising (partial throttle) have the same AFR as WOT?

Question for everybody here. Did you guys diy or pay for the headers to be installed? I have a set of ppe's sitting at home waiting to be hooked up to a stillen y pipe and agency power single. Unfortunately I don't get a whole lot of time off of work and my z is my daily so I cant afford too much down time. I've read a few diy's and I know it's very time consuming and my biggest fear is that I won't be able to finish the install before i need to go back to work but on the other hand there aren't a whole lotta reputable import shops near me.

To diy with long tubes that would take you a very long time.

I understand that. Most of the diy's I've seen take 20+ hours total which isn't a completely unreasonable amount of time but it's hard when you only have 2 days off a week and you have a family. I guess the question I should have asked is if I pay for a shop to install the headers is it gonna be worth the amount that a shop is gonna rape me for or should I suck it up, grab some friends, and try to knock it out myself during a weekend?

Not sure how it is stateside but here on Oahu, Hawaiii it's would cost close to a grand in labor...they might even say you have to drop the motor to install causing more time and labor charges!

DIY is easy, once you have all the tools! Tools tools tools....the rest is straight forward.

I would highly suggest DIY. It really isn't that bad, in fact, my second time doing it I did it in about 12 hours.

I'll have some r&r when I get home plus I'm gonna take some leave on top of that so I guess after I do all my stuff with the wife and family I'll have to dedicate some time to the car before they start working me like a slave again.

Then start buying your tools!

I'm a family man myself and know the pain in sneaking away to the garage! I've found that preparation helps with jobs since time is short.

Been seriously considering these PPE longtubes for a while now. So far from all the threads on 06 NA revup engine builds, they make decent gains. I was considering Tomei headers for a while but PPE seems the better way to go.

Plus it has a lot more to do with just the headers. A local here switched from obx to ppe and picked up a ton of power throughout the whole powerband.

There's a reason why the cheap ones are so cheap:
-terrible fitment
-poor welds
-no proper merge collector
