What are the Borla TD and Nismo exhaust systems going for these days? Where's the best place to order online? Thanks.

I got my Nismo exhaust from my dealer for $825 - if your going to purchase online I go with Performance Nissan.

Maybe it is just me, and of course, to each is own, but I just can't see buying an exhaust that is not a true dual, when I can get a true dual for the same price. Now, if we are talking Ti, that is different, but steel is steel, give me the dual.

For those of you buying exhausts after the true duals came out, why?? Is it just the sound of that particular exhaust??

I still haven't found an exhaust I really like, most of them almost has a fake sound for this car, IMO. I would love to hear an exhaust scream, ala F1, but I haven't heard any that do that. Going by those sound clips on the 350Z site, none of them have this sound.

Isn't the Nismo True Dual? I know that Borla is (or at least the newer release is).

No, the Nismo is a single pipe with duel coming from the muffler out the back.

you either have no taste, or you have not heard the amuse exhaust....otherwise you might have to get an F1 engine to get the sound your after

I must have no taste, lol. Seems like you read the end, without reading the beginning. I don't like an exhaust that is very similar to stock, except tuned for a different sound. I have more to do with my money than buy an exhaust ONLY cause it sounds 'cool' with minimal gains.

I would like to see an exhaust that is a true dual, that can flow more air(exhaust) for FI and such, and sound more exotic. Not too much to ask, yet it hasn't been answered.

If I had to pick right now, it would be the Borlas, cause of bang for the buck. But that ain't saying that I am thrilled by that exhaust at all.

age has nothing to do with buying an exhaust by the way...otherwise they would recommend an age when buying, as in "this exhaust is for ages between 30-35" LOL

again mr little rod, how can you not like the amuse....and it does show decent gains, looks the best and sounds the best....priceless too....why does it matter if its dual or not, as long as it performs that is what counts...out

For a lot of people a true duel is a must including myself. In my opinion it not only looks better but suits the Z more than a single pipe exhaust.

Is that true about no cats neccisary in florida? I live in jacksonville. I was thinking about doing the old bang out the cats with a hammer and suck out the insides with a vaccum cleaner trick. Xerd long tube headers are just plain awesome though.

Oh, the amuse is nice, and I do like it, just wouldn't spend my money on it. Since I would have to pay for mine(and it is alot of money), I don't see anything priceless about the Amuse. A true dual does matter in exhaust flow, especially for FI applications.

But, the amuse looks amazing.

Well, don't know what we disagree about then, cause I agree with you here. Like I said, I refuse to spend over 2K on the Amuse, not like it is worth all that money performancewise. Heck, give me some Ti exhaust tips for my stock exhaust, and I am cool, lol. Well, not really, but the tips and weight are cool, but not worth that money.

I'm 36 and after living with the Borla for a week now, I'd say go for the BORLA.. It was so quiet when I picked my Z up from the shop that I had to do a double take and look under the car to make sure they didn't rip me off!...

After a few hundred miles of driving and break in, I find that this thing is slightly louder than stock and has the same stock tone... There is a little low end rumble at 2K RPM but it's a nice rumble.. I actually wish it was just a tad bit louder but I guess when I put on my high flow cats, I'll achieve that..

It's a true dual, it's got nice dual wall tips, it's cheap (compared to the others), it's 12lbs lighter than stock, it performs well in head-to-head tests, it's definately not a cops take notice exhaust, it's got a million mile warranty..

What more could you ask for?

I'm 31 and just popped on the RS*R GT-II. With the sileners and at idle it's not much louder than stock. The db do go up at WOT, and it's a much deeper rumble. It is completely manageable for daily driving IMHO. Now without the sileners is a completely different animal. At WOT I don't think I'll be able to hear a passenger talking to me. Seriously it's that loud, at least it was with the windows open. But that's the beauty, I have a civil exhaust for in town drives w/ sileners, and a monster sound when I go to the auto-x or track. Best of both worlds

Default just stay away from the RT's

If you want a good sounding exhaust and want to keep the db's low, stick with cat back and maybe headers only. The rt and probably other high flow cats really make the exhaust loud. I think mine sounds good though and i'm over 30, but once you jump on it, it starts sounding a little loud and obnoxious like i was 18 again hehe.
