Default Test Pipes on 04. Is it true you throw a code?

i was told 04s throw a code when you run test pipes.
ive got a set of mines pipes im dying to put on, but im not one for making me car love me less.
my 03 didnt have any problems with test pipes.
so whats the word on the street?

I have an 04 with test pipes. I throw 1 code reset it and it never came on again.

I have an 04 and i have test pipes. When i first put them on they threw a check engine light. I had it reset and it never came on again.

did you disconnect the battery or do the reset procedure? because i suck at the reset procedure.

I guess you have your answer bro wouldnt suprise me if the CEL Did come on SOMEWHERE down the line, Though..Happened in my RSX, w/ HF Cats, about 6k miles after install. The reset procedure is easy, practice. Im a master of it now, can do it while counting in my head lol.

i had a code for about 10k miles went off for 500 miles and came back on for bout 300 miles and been off now for about 2500 now....

I threw an SES almost immediately after installing my Kinetix TP's. Can't get rid of the damn thing?

I have an 04 and have not seen a CEL with my current list of mods. I wonder if the reason that some ppl are getting CELs is because of the production date. Some things have changed on the 04s in the middle of the production year, like the ECUs, suspension components, etc and I wonder if that is why some are getting the CELs. My 04 was made is July of 03 so mine was an early production 04.

but i havent reset the ecu. only done partial reset. and that gets rid of it for a while.

how do you reset?> unplugging the battery? or do you need some sort of OBDII tool?

This Really Needs To Be a Sticky

The HELP! method has been successful and is under $10 and VERY easy to install.
