Default clutch pedal noise

Just bought new 350z basic model and all. Got only 200+ miles on it. The last couple days when I press the clutch I hear a popping sound when I press the clutch, sound disappears when the clutch is all the way down. Sound only occurs when you first press on the clutch. Does not happen all the time. Having no problems with gears and no engine check light on. Looks to me like the pedal for the clutch needs something, anybody got a clue?

do you only hear the pop once when you are pressing in the clutch (pop) or is it a repetitive sound (pop, pop, pop)?

I've had the same problem...very similar to your description, but my problem seems like it usually only shows up during longer drives. I've posted my problem on this forum before but it doesn't seem like many ppl have had that problem. I tried taking it in to the dealership to be looked at, but all they tell me is that they can't recreate the problem so they can't do anything about it. so I guess I just have to deal with it till it becomes a bigger problem, by which time I'll probably be outta warranty and nissan will tell me "oh...so sorry....but that'll be $800". anyways, enough *****ing. I'd probably have your dealer take a look at it the next time you bring it in for servicing and if they can't recreate the problem, make sure they notate that you told them about the problem and that they couldn't find it, that way you might have some leverage later on if you end up outta warranty.

I'm sure I can recreate noise from pedal. All I have to do is sit there and press the clutch pedal lightly back and forth and you will hear the sound. I'll take in for service and recreate noise for them, lets see what they say

i had the exact same problem until i adjusted the pedal for freeplay, you can do it by adjusting the ascd cancel in the pic, adjust it to your liking but not too much and the clutch will feel alot better

From your pic do you adjust that ascd cancel from outside the vehicle in the hood or do you have to go under the front drivers side of the vehicle to adjust. What type of tool did you use to adjust it?

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....=adjust+clutch

look there to see how to access the adjustments, you should read the entire thread, i decreased the free play a little more than 1 1/2 turns lower and lowered the clutch pedal half a turn

Does it sound like this?

www.lots-of-info.com/29-07-05_1312.3gp - video and sound if you have real player

http://videos.streetfire.net/player....D-2C06F83E925D - just sound without video for media player

If it does sound like that, this is what they did. Of course everytime I took my car in they couldn't reproduce the problem so I took the video with my phone and showed them. They never came accross this problem before but when I took my car in last time they took apart the clutch, put it back together, and lubricated everything. I haven't had the problem since.

I have that same problem, just as you start to depress the clutch

It doesn't do it all the time though

I thought maybe it was a tension spring that was binding, but I'm not mechanic

I have a 2006 and it does the same thing. It sometimes clicks when you first start to depress the clutch pedal. I didn't notice it until about the 1,200 mile mark. It doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes you can get it to do it 8 times in a row and sometimes it might not do it 8 times in a row.

If anybody finds or knows anything let me and other know.

Thanks
