Unhappy Problem: Humming & Tinking sound

My Z has a very strange symptom. The humming starts while I accelerate passed 8mph (usually starts when I shift into second). Then this humming sound continues. When I let go of the accelerator at about 40 mph (in 5th gear), it starts to tick while it continues to hum. Then when I hit the brake, it makes the ugliest tinking sound... like a tiny hammer tapping on something metal, at the pace of a horse gallop! I can feel it through the brake pedal.
I took it into Nissan on Friday, and they said nothing was wrong. When I drove off the lot, the car was driving normal again. But over the weekend, it started up again . I'm going back in this week, just wanted to let you guys know.
Is this an ABS problem? It sounds like my ABS is kicking on when I hit the brakes, but then the automatic pumping makes an incredibly ugly sound. What do you think? Any request for clarification is welcome and I'll tell you how it goes at the dealer 2nd visit. Can anyone here test their ABS and tell me what it sounds like?

Does it sound like the "Clicking Noise From Rear Axles" TSB will cover this?
I have scheduled to go see Nissan on Friday (11/4/05) at 830 in the morning. Hope that my Z continues to show the symptoms when it gets to the service dept. Plan on going for a ride along to see. Bringing copies of the TSB mentioned above as well as the general one for all nisan brake noise/judder/pedal feel diagnosis and repair.

I performed a test this morning. I pulled the e-brake while the car was moving and making the humming sound, but it did not make the klanky jutter sound. Therefore, I believe the problem is with the front brakes. Going to the dealer tomorrow, will share all information and test results I have performed with the tech.

I was right about 1 thing. The ABS was kicking on, but it was not due to a Nissan failure, but to the speed shop I took my car. They did not install the axles all the way in to the diff, causing my ABS to think it had wheel slip and also causing intermittent failures with my speedometer. Costed me $89 (labor only). At least I know now that it is installed properly.

The problem has returned!!! Guess what Nissan did was not enough. I did put in an oil that was thicker than the recommended 80W-90. I used 85W-140 which might be the reason why my car thinks there is wheel slip because the thicker-than-recommended-oil causes the LSD to lock up more than normal. I put 80W-90 back in, but did not flush. Going to do some figure 8s tonite to get the oil inbetween all the cracks.

Nevermind, I fixed it. Changed the diff oil and ran some figure 8's. Perfect again.
Lesson learned: Use the recommended oil especially on an aftermarket because your car will be mistaken.
The oil did indeed cause the LSD to lock up too tight, and cause the ABS to kick on.

Problem has returned. This time, ABS light came on during two drives. It doesn't come on every time. After reading the thread about rear axle clicking:
https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/131209-rear-axel-clicking.html
I believe this is my problem. waiting for others to let me know if they have the ABS problem with the rear axle clicking problem or not.

clovis nissan reports:
"ABS HAS CODE - C1106-RR LH SENSOR IN-OP. ORDER SENSOR
BRAKE RESERVOIR WAS LOW. TOP OFF RESERVOIR WAS LOW, TOP OFF RESERVOIR BRAKES F-3MM R-3MM"
I will return to Clovis Nissan when the part comes in and get it installed.
