LOL! That's pretty funny waldf! You may be right!

Grifferjr, no problems yet, other than the fact the grease still seems to be there. I washed my car over the weekend and cleaned the interior of my windows very well. Just noticed last night, in the right angle of light from a street lamp, I could still see some streaks coming back. Maybe it's residue left on my window seal and will take a few cleanings to eliminate. Not sure. I'll keep a watch on it and let you and my dealership know if it starts to become a real pain again. All and all, still better than it was. I'm taking all long trip this weekend and will let you know if I have any problems with wind noise, the windows or anything else.

I am well over 5 times having my car in and my buddy (that drives a G) just laughs when he follows me into the dealer...Now I have to wait til it comes back to report it a lemon.
Does anyone know if you can file for lemon law after the 12k, 12 month time period if the problem still exsists?
As some of you might suspect after this request, there is another set of alignment specs that have come down from Nissan. I am having mine done on Monday.

I did express my displeasure to my dealer service rep; however, his hands are tied. He's been great. Nissan on the other hand ...

When did the new alignment specs come out. My dealer got my new front tires in this week and I just waiting to take my car in. When they ordered my tires I asked them about the alignment. He said it wouldn't need to be aligned since it was aligned in early November when I had my tires swapped. I was thinking BS, since I know that at least one new set of specs has come out since November.

Funny...I had my alignment done same time and tire replaced Monday and the dealer called me yesterday to schedule an appt for alignment. He said NNA wanted another alignment. If I get any info from him I will post it.

Let me guess. They now want 1mm total toe + or - 0mm which, by the way, would be exactly where they started from, 1mm being nominal. You're just going to have shoulder cupping on both sides at this setting. I had shoulder cupping primarily on but not limited to the inside at 0mm. I have shoulder cupping primarily on but not limited to the outside at 2mm. Hmmm... Excellent work Nissan. In just 9 or 10 months you have figured out how to maintain balanced shoulder cupping. Imagine what you could do with this car if you had several years to perfect it. Balanced shoulder cupping at all 4 corners? Sorry. always the skeptic.

Finally someone did this. Must be a attorney or group of them that has caught wind of the on-going problem. Here's the link:

Here's another chance for you all to make your case with the tire noise. Write to Edmunds before they do a wrap up of their long term tester.

Default Still feathering...

After free front tires at 10,300 miles (dealer didn't swap?) and an alignment the noise is back 5,000 miles later.

This time the SM said he didn't hear "excessive" noise!?!?!? but he checked the aligment anyway...."still in spec"

If the alignment settings are correct and they put on new tires, why is the feathering/noise back? hmmm.

I opened a case before the 2nd repair "attempt" with NNA.

I have already started researching the lemon law in Virginia and will be sending my official letter in 3 weeks after I take it back in when the noise becomes louder. I put 600 miles a week on the Z.

I also sent a letter to Edmunds.com

I don't have any feathering issues, but at 9500 miles, I have two large sections of tread that have seperated from the tire casing. it is just gone on right and left sides. Has anyone else had any issue with the Bridgestone 18's on the rear?

I took my Z in on Saturday for the TSB. I called during the week to see if it needed to be scheduled, which it didn't. The person failed to let me know that they don't perform this work on Saturdays. The person also said that they do the TSB on site, which they don't. I waited an hour for a service advisor to tell me this. Also, he told me to wait because he thought there would be a recall on the tires. He did not offer to schedule the TSB for another day. I was thrown off by that. I'm going to call that 800 number in hopes they can log my "attempt" to get the TSB done. I wasn't pleased about the wait. I had a person with me to give me a ride back home too. I felt bad about him having to wait for nothing.

This was at Capitol Nissan. If anyone works there on this board, I apologize for my immature burnout from the garage. A bad way to let out frustration..

My Nissan Dealer acted as if they had never heard anything about any of the TSB's for feathering. I played dumb until she lied to me. I'll never buy another car from Lou Fusz in STL, this is just SO FRUSTRATING!!

I had my oil/filter done today and mentioned the feathering. The service advisor said they would realign and swap the tires, he said it should fix it. I have 4200 miles on it and he said we needed to get this all done before the 12 month 12K miles is up I've got it schle for next week. Figure even though the feathering is slight it is good to get on this soon so I can get a new pair of front tires before the 12K miles is up. Even though the 12 Month 12K mile is BS once I've reported this as a problem. Now it is on Nissan to fix it. I will call Nissan and open a case # after the TSB fix fails and it is time to get new tires.

Base all your decisions on when you can file Lemon Law. Once you go past that your at the mercy of Nissan. You want to protect yourself.

I guess I finally have to admit it. I'm a tire featherer. I have 17k miles and the last 4 or so thousand I've noticed a lot of rumbling while slowing down.

I'd checked my tires before and hadn't noticed anything, but I checked again yesterday. Sure enough, I'm feathering. The inner treads are worn down to the tread indicators, the outsides have about 3-4 mm more.

My dealer is essentially clueless about things like the Bose TSB and tire feathering. I'll have to bring some documentation for them.

Sounds like a valid tire warranty issue.

17K miles and you think the dealer is clueless? You will need more than documentation to get warranty coverage on these tires. If you have not reported a problem with these tires before the 12 month 12K mile warranty expired you don't have a prayer of getting any warranty coverage. Please let us know if the dealer does anything for you under warranty.

I thought so too, but the Bridgestone dealer (the one my Nissan dealer sent me to) didn't agree (they claimed Road Hazard). Then they tried to sell me two new RE040's for the rear for $680. HA! I then told him the only way I would take B-Stones again was if they were free. Then I went home and ordered Some new Yokohama AVS's all around for about the same price as 2 new Bridgestones. AAAAawful customer service Nissan and Bridgestone, I should have learned my lesson after the way I was treated with my 01 Maxima. I kinda wish I would have bought an S2000 right about now.
