Tire FEATHERING: FYI
I got my temporary fix yesterday. The adjusted toe out to max. The steering isn't as performance oriented. They also scraped my rims. Luckily I took pictures before and after. I also had the service advisor look at the rims before and after. He said that they would get fixed, but discount tire does the work. He's going to take it there.
Well, knock me over with a feather! The dealer just called and they realigned my car and replaced my front two tires without me pitching a hissy! Hopefully that resolves my feathering issue.
let's just hope that they replaced the tires before the allignment.
I dropped my car off at the dealer last night. I called them today and they said they had to send the car down the street to do a 4 wheel allignment because they did not have the proper equiptment. At this point I'm not sure if they replaced all of the tires or just the front two. I have to say that the dealership that I have been working with is great, and I didn't even buy the car from them. I really hope this solves my feathering issue.

How is it that others can get replacement tires so quickly and I've been waiting now for three weeks on the so called "Priority" list per NNA.
I tend to think NNA is blowing smoke up my a$$....
Going to give my CSR at NNA a call tomorrow to see if she can track down my 4 new tires... I can already hear her now "We're doing the best we can..." - we'll, you're best is not good enough!

I jumped the gun a little and just sent off my faxes to every number on the list. I won't have a chance to do it tomorrow.
I'm at 9,300 miles and my second set of front RE 040's is toast. My alignment has been in spec the whole time. VIN 100594

Faxed at 11 am ET. Next time we send them a letter maybe we should tell Nissan we are prepared to take out a full page ad in the USA Today. Let everyone know about this problem. I'm sure that would **** someone off.

Please join us in this effort. Nissan needs to take us seriously and recognize that we will not stand for an inferior product!
We demand a fix to the tire cupping issue!
It is poor public relations for them not to respond to our request for a solution. Many of us have endured this problem for over a year now and many more are still getting the run-around and denial from the dealerships and NNA about the issue.
Some 350Z owners have even been so fed up with the issue & NNA that they have sold their 350Z’s or have pursued the Lemon Law to resolve their case.
This is unacceptable! We should NOT have to go through this hassle in order to drive our cars in the manner it was intended.
Shiro Nakamura, Senior VP Design NML, promised: “...The Z can also be appreciated for the more practical side that comes with everyday ownership – durability, utility, comfort, reliability and low maintenance.”
Where is the “reliability and low maintenance” he promised?

Dear Nissan Motor Co.,
We implore the leaders of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. to stand behind and deliver on Carlos Ghosn’s promise, "The New Z
will deliver the performance and high design qualities of today's cutting-edge sports cars at a truly attainable price. Our
goal is to build a memorable, no-compromise sports car..." by fixing the tire feathering/cupping issue on the 2003 350Z.
(TSB Ref: NTB03006)
We demand that the Nissan Motor Co. make a commitment to quality and ensure the “Z” heritage not be diminished
by allowing a sub-standard product to be on the market.
All of us have put our faith in the Nissan Brand by purchasing our 350Z sight-unseen. Many of us pre-ordered and put deposits down for our cars, 8 to 12 months, in advance because we believed in the words of Shiro Nakamura, Senior VP Design NML, “First, the design offers strong visual and driving appeal, but the Z can also be appreciated for the more practical side that comes with everyday ownership – durability, utility, comfort, reliability and low maintenance.”
We plead for a timely and thorough investigation of this issue. Please do NOT allow shame to be shed on Kazutoshi Mizuno, 350Z Chief Vehicle Engineer, by turning a deaf ear on a serious problem with the 350Z.
We call for a complete and permanent solution and most of all, justice. Please do not let us down. We believe as Carlos Ghosn does, "that the Z is the heart & soul of Nissan". We would hate to find out that the "350Z DNA" is made up
of inferior genes.
In Solidarity,
The Undersigned

I sent my faxes too all the numbers except for the over seas one. I can't get the damn code at work to dial international numbers!
Anyways, I hope we hear something from Nissan about this soon.
I also hope we are not the only ones who sent a fax.
