Default Brake Dust - Any Cure?

Does anyone have a fix or cure for the constant brake dust?

All I need to do is drive 5 miles or so, and if I look, there it is. Nevermind the 75 miles to and from my office.

It gets old, always having to clean the wheels. That's been the biggest maintenance headache so far over the past 4+ months.

What about the folks who have the Track model with the Brembos?

Default New Pads~

thats normally the cure for a lot of the cars I've owned--I'm gettin sick of the Dust myself,...I'll try to get some Project U pads more than likely!
I promise that will @least lessen it,...My front wheels get a little caked on as well!!!

theres nothing inherently wrong with the brakes, its just the brake pads breaking down quickly, when their replaced youll have the same dust as any other car with those pads.

You can always buy rotor caps, or the plastic covers that go over the rotors. I am thinking of doing this, too, just beacuse of this same problem.

If I do, I will let you know if they are hidious or not on the car.

Default Buy low dust pads

Seriously the only real solution is buy low dust pads. It baffles me why Nissan chose the tires and brake pads for this car -- what a mistake.

Anyway buy some low dust pads and you will be much happier.

the brake pads we have dust so easily cause they grip like mad. a harder low dust pad will hurt braking performance. you cant have it all. and the expensive ones that wont dust, and will brake, are high temp applications, which no factories gonna put on the car cause people like to be able to stop before their brakes hit 2-300degrees.

Plastic covers on wheels? Ive seen them on other cars and they are damn ugly! Not for me!

I've seen some pads that are white not black - they still create dust but it is much less noticeable - I will see if they make them to fit the 350Z. It may be too soon tho. The dust covers are NOT a good idea - they can lead to overheating and loss of braking - don't use them!!!

I haven't been on in a week or so, but a few others have also asked this question about the dust / maint. issue.

I suppose I'll give the wheels a coat of Meguier's and see what results I get.

After waxing the wheels, would a good sharp stream from the hose wash the dust off, or would it still require additional elbow grease?
