Default Airbag light never comes on

I have a 2003 Nissan 350z with side and curtain airbags. I removed the seats to clean the carpet. After I put my car back together the Airbag light no longer comes on when I start up the car. How can I get the system to run the diagnostic test without going to the dealership? I have checked the connections under the seats and I have checked the fuse for the airbag.

Did you disconnect the battery before removing the seats?

The airbag light doesn't even come on to perform the self test.
I have looked at the car closely:
I took the trim off of the pillars and the airbags are still there and connected. I removed the seat covers and the airbags are still there and connected. I have removed the steering wheel airbag and it is there and connected. I removed the center console and the module is there and connected. The only bag I have not been able to check is the passenger dash airbag. All airbags that I have been able to check are Nissan OEM. I have also checked the fuse in the fuse block and it is there and metered good. Is there only 1 fuse??
What else could I look at that would cause it not to perform the self test?

I have nothing to offer off-hand, but if you found the instructions for doing a gauge-face mod/install, then you'd have the info you need to get inside the gauge cluster.

I really doubt it is the bulb though. Could be, but doubtful. Have you tried going into your dealer yet?
