So about a week ago I noticed my car (tranny) making this clicking noise when it was on idle, not in gear, sounded like a loose nut or something. Then yesterday my "ses" light came on so I went to the dealer and dropped it off, they just called and said Im going to need a new tranny. It's under warranty so its being replaced as we speek. My question is this, what can I do, or am I stuck with this car, I didnt pay $30,000 for a car thats going to have it's tranny replaced every 6,00 miles (rant!!!!!!)
, I know I cant get another car from nissan, but what can i do, Am I stuck with this or what?????? As you can see im a little pissed. Is there a limit to how many times it has to happen until Nissan does something besides changing the tranny everytime. Dont get me wrong i love my car and would give it up for anything, but its a bummer. And yes I know z's(some) are notorious for tranny problems, like the 03's but an 06 with 6,023 miles on it, is this a sign of things to come. Any feedback or advise would be greatly apreciated. Thanks guys
Someone has to have a bad tranny. I mean that there are bound to be some issues with some things mechanical. These are machines. Nothing is perfect. Maybe you got a tranny that was started on a Friday and finished on a Monday and someone forgot something over the weekend. You never know. So you got a bad tranny and you are getting a new one. Big deal. At least it is still under warranty. After all, that is what warranties are for.

consider yourself unlucky, in the minority, and hopefully everything will work out.
If you continue to have problems you could always trade up to an 07Z in the future...

I feel the same way about my engine troubles. I really love the Z and it's been my dream car for a long time. But it's hard to enjoy a car that's having major problems.
Overall I know Nissan is generally reliable, it's just hard to have that faith when your own car needs engines or trannys replaced.

Every state has different variations of the lemon law. You should review yours if you think that it's going to become an issue.

Im not going to do that, if it percists than im taking action to get another Z or something.

I do wonder whether this grinding issue is first experienced by someone who does fast shifting at high RPMs. I've taken my to high RPM, but haven't yet performed any fast shifts gear to gear as if I were racing someone.
Does this grind happen to those who've bought the car (new), and do not do quick shifting?
