Default 350z in storage doesn't want to start

My cousin had her 350z in storage for awhile (went out of the country for over a year), and her boyfriend said he took every precaution he could think of when he put it away. Things like unbolting the tires and rims, taking some air out, removing the battery, etc.

Well she came back into town and everything was bolted back up and the fluids were put into the car. The car didn't want to start up. Her boyfriend took the car to the dealership and it costed her about $600 to get whatever it was fixed. I'm not in the city anymore so I can't really help her out, but I'm curious to know what happend? Why would the car not want to start?

Dealership said the ECU had reset itself since the battery was unhooked for so long. Does this sound right?

Yeah, but that would just reset it to the factory maps, ie loose watever it had "learned". Doesn't really explain not starting...

Most of the time the Z survives best when you don't take many precautions at all...

Find out what the dealer did "to get whatever it was fixed" and maybe we can answer...

Did she try to jump it? Sounds like the alternator just lost its charge. You need to turn on a car every couple weeks for the alternator not to drain.

I think you mean battery, and the OP stated that the battery was removed.
