if nobody replies by the time mine if finished ill look on the service order when mine is done sometime next week and let you know what part they actually replaced - the whole cubby door or just the button. My vote is on the whole door though, because the little plastic - wanna be metal trim on my steering wheel had peeling clearcoat, and they have to replace the whole wheel, because the parts dont exist for those panels on the base.

I have the same problem, there were some scratches there when I bought it, but they keep adding up. Most recently my radar detector fell and left a solid mark on the center console. I used a sharpie lol, it's not bad but I'd like to find a permanent solution. Carbon fiber overlays is not a bad idea.
My shifter **** (OEM) looks like absolute *** from the silver wearing off the numbers on top. I have a few scratches here and there but what annoys me most is the stupid driver's side door switch/pull thingy keeps popping out of it's place and won't stay in.
does anyone know if this is an 06 and before issue or does it carry through to the '07 and '08 ??? My '06 looked pretty bad but my '08 is still looking OK prob cause it still only has 55 miles on it lol
mine looked pretty bad too...but my friend and i popped them off and sanded, painted it gloss black and cleared and it looks amazing! for an $8 job, it can't be beat....initially, i was going to get the cf to put on top of it but it's not worth the price....it's really an easy job and anyone can do it
made it not as noticeable from a distance but looked horrible up close

Yeah, go figure, I got all my stuff replaced and have been extra careful, but I already got a little nick in it again. That material just sucks...next time I'll just repaint them with regular paint.
Yeah, the plastic **** can scratch off just with your finger nail. I have a couple spots in my 07 but I'm really careful of it after seeing the first two scratches and picking at them and seeing how easy that **** just comes off. I want to replace all those plastic areas in my car with CF.
I have the same problem with the coating rubbing off just by touching very lightly...I spoke with Nissan here in Houston and they say it's not a warranty issue either. No coating should rub off like this....pure crap!!!
Same issue here on the drivers side finisher. I have an 07 with 20k miles and the finisher looks like crap. I see some have had luck taking it to the dealer and getting parts replaced. I'll be heading there this weekend and see...
50 something bucks for a replacement finisher is crazy considering its the same material and will chip as well

I just took down the head liner, because I was going to paint it black, now that I'm more comfortable with the paint, I will repaint all the plastic pieces also. The instructions recommended using 400 grit sand paper to prep the painting surface.
For those that are considering doing this, you should definitely prime it after you sand it. Prime it a few coats and then apply the actual paint. Personally I'd go with flat black over gloss black, but that's just me.
