You forgot "None of the above" so I could vote...

Isn't this the wrong forum for this?

Hi, Im from Australia and have a 350Z on order. After browsing these forums im quite unhappy and a bit uneasy with all these problems u guys r reporting.

- Interior rattles (cant stand them)
- Squeeling brake pads (Ive ordered Track spec with Brembos)
- Thin paint with orange peel (The silver mightn show the peel)
- Transmission problems
- Rough idle (Maybe i need to buy a grounding kit to fix that)
- Window streaks (r u kidding?)

Can ne1 ease my worries, im beginning to doubt picking up the car next month.

Another vote for "Wrong Forum"

I've had none of the problems listed anywhere on this thread besides orange peel which is terrible on the black.

I have a slightly rough idle, but as long as there's no misfiring or any other problem, I don't mind it. I also have a bit of orange peel on the doors, but I don't care at all. I have a slight grease streak (its really hardly noticeable) on the driver's window, but if I want to get it fixed, I can. So far my tires show no signs of feathering and my seat hasn't clunked. All in all, I'm very happy with the car. Any problems the car may develop should be fixed under warranty...

G'day ZEXC-33, I'm from Sydney. Good to see a fellow Aussie on the boards. I got my Z last week and had concerns after reading about the various "problems"
In my experience so far (4 days):
- no rattles
- no squeeling brakes (I got the Touring - no Brembos)
- paint looks ok, but have not looked very closely (I also got silver)
- transmission sounds fine
- idles sweetly at about 800
- window streaks - noticed them today as I had a new tint on. Streaks are damn ugly and will take this up with the dealer at the 1000km service.

Don't worry about reading about a few problems with this car. It is only natural for people to vent their frustrations when their expectations are not met. I'd say that if you polled all Z owners, I'd guess that 95% of owners would be satisfied with their cars.

lmao. i thought i was the only one with the seat click..why does it do this? Did they forget to tighten the bolts? every time i hear it i think my seat is going to fall off the cabin floor. I also have a grease slick on my driver side window. Other than that i cant complain about anything else. I still love it!

thanks for replying KY350.

Glad to see a fellow Aussie enjoying a 350. I guess alot of the problems ppl r having r affecting a minority of owners, and is often the case with first yr cars. But i havnt had ne such problems with my current car, 01 Alfa 156, despite the complex Selespeed gearbox and everyones opinions of Italian reliability.

I just think its a bit dissapointing given Nissan Aus is asking high 60s for the cars. They do offer a 6yr warranty tho

You forgot the all of the above choice. These are the most quality issues I've ever had in a new car and I've had several first year models from Ford and Toyota. Probably, my last Nissan ever.

I have had none of the above problems(8500miles). I also know several ppl who have had the same experience. It seems that people who have problems..***** about them on the internet, and people who don't have problems stay quiet.

deeba + DC 06.06.03: ZPilot has posted a diagnosis and fix for the seat click--probably two months ago. The problem is the rod that adjusts seat height clicks on the right side of the seat. It isn't held firmly in the mounting hole. ZPilot drilled a small hole and put a cotter pin through. Its a straight forward afternoon fix.

I fixed my seat click. Put me down for the "no problems at all--best car I have ever owned" category. Far fewer small problems than my brother's S2000 which I also love.

The only problem that I have experienced with my 350Z is the slight movement of the driver's seat while turning sharply. I took it back to the dealer and they installed a new seat track - now my baby is perfect.

This is the best car that I have ever owned and it has exceeded all of my expectations.

Super Black with Super Orange Peel - looks like paint was applied with a roller.

Seat also rocked & clunked, but by adjusting it, I've minimized it.

Also have window streaks, but feel that's no big deal.

Worried about future tire feathering though (VIN #002008 - 8 months of ownership - 2500 miles on speedo), since tires and alignment only have 1 year warrantee, and problem doesn't appear for 5000 miles or so.

Still, I have to give this Z a 9.5 out of 10 - I love driving it.
