Unhappy Clutch noise

So I have a new Z, and i noticed that my clutch doesn't make any noise. Completely quiet, even while in neutral or shifting. Is it broken? Should I get my tranny replaced?

...people complain about the clutch noise, you get one without noise and you want to replace it? All kidding aside, if the car drives fine, I wouldn't worry. I don't think I've ever heard of someone wanting to replace a part because it WASN'T making any stranges noises

speaking of noises...

I've noticed a slight 'rattling' noise on occassion after I've been driving the car around and I have the clutch released.. anyone else ever experience this?

I dont mean to be a thread stealer, but I'm just curious if anyone else has heard that coming from their Z or not and whether I should take it to the dealer to get checked out

They (350z's) almost all do that. I have a brand new 07 and the clutch is noisey as hell when it's released. Push the clutch in and noice goes away.

Feel free to steal the thread. This was just created in a bout of delirium / boredom / sarcasm in response to all the other threads that keep asking about the noise. I need to stop posting when tired.

Well that makes me feel better (sorta)... I wonder what makes that happen?

And you're right.. as soon as I press the clutch back down the noise goes away...strange o_O

What do you mean by play? There is a bit of play before you reach the engagement point, which is normal. Is that what your talking about?

mmm yes kinda. Before this happened, the play was softer if any. and now when i let the pedal go after shifting it kinda gets stock a bit before coming back all the way, thats the kind of play i mean... is this normal?

I'm getting the same thing...made an appointment with Nissan dealer near me for tomorrow to check it out...will update with their diagnosis...

------------------------------------------

Update: Dropped it off this morning waiting for the call back....

------------------------------------------

Update: Got a call two hours later. They told me..."everything is completely normal, the more mileage the Z gets, the louder the drive line gets...drive her hard, you got a 60K warranty"

I guess that's somewhat reassuring...

About the clutch making a slight noise, I have that in my 07 Z as well. Its not THAT loud but you can tell its there when not pressed, but when you press the clutch it goes away. Im just checking when they said "Almost" all 350z's do that does that mean some do and some dont? I just wanna be reassured that that is in no way harming anything or grinding anything in my car.
