Mine was a preorder Dec '02 and the battery just gave it up last night. It even waited until it was in my garage, what a car!

As robertinmesa said: "you're lucky to get two years in Phoenix" is oh so right. The only good thing I was still in warranty (pro-rated). The bad thing was it still cost me 60 bucks or so. The heat here is a bigger killer than the cold (plus the fact is I don't believe the Japs can make a decent battery.) I speak as a long-time owner of many Jap motorcycles. the worst battery I ever bought was a Yuasa original equiptment battery.
Just my opinion (and luck!)

Joe

4 years, marginally over, and 60,000 kilometres. Not bad going and longer than my S15's battery.

These batteries are not entirely maintenace free, as long as a good level of distilled water is maintained they last pretty long. Well at least the ones made by Panasonic is. Ive seen some Z's come with some Yuasa batteries which didnt last quite as long.

My Toyota 4runner has a OEM Panasonic battery is original and still going strong 5 years and 8 months later.

My battery is still running strong at 49 months/15,255 miles.
I still need to go in for a 15,000 mile service.

I have an '03 with 30k miles. The battery is original and going on 5.5 year. I should replace it before it dies. I might just finish the season and plan to put a new one when I take it out of storage next spring.

I had to replace the 5.8 year old battery in my Jeep last week when it left me stuck at work...

39 months, 8 days.

Mine would not start the car today. I've been noticing that the car cranked slowly lately. I had to purchase a new battery.

Got an April 2003 track with original battery. I do check battery level every time I change oil and use only distilled water. 28K miles.

No idea how long my battery would have lasted..... it lasted 4 years/55k miles before I replaced it with a braille battery for weight reduction.... it saw 108 degree summers...20 degree winters....

I think you will find that most people are having to change it out at about the 4 to 5 year mark.

Just under 5 years and about 50k miles for me. Good thing mine was a female battery. It didn't just die...it whine at me for about a week until I couldn't stand it anymore. Then I traded her in for a new one.

My car was originally purchased in July of 03 and is still running on the stock battery perfectly. So, 62ish months ain't bad. Same weather here in IN too and it has always sat outside (until about 2 years ago, when I bought a house with a garage). I've been impressed. Wanted to buy a lighter weight battery but couldn't see the point in replacing it with nothing wrong with it.
