The factory Panasonic/Yuasa battery will actually last a little longer if you maintain the distilled water in the battery properly. My Panasonic battery is 8 years old and still kicking strong and has no signs of acid build up on the terminals either.

Lasted slightly over 2 years. I don't drive it much but I keep it on a Battery Tender jr. and it says the battery is charged with a green light. Open the door and try to start it and it just clicks..... Is the battery gone?

Aha, and I made the b-i-g mistake of getting a "Titan(???)" from Advance Auto, when the OEM one went! Whenever I need another one, I'll get the original! It's the "School of Hard Knocks" teaching me! I purchased an emergency booster at Pep Boys, which I keep at home---just
in case.

Battery was low on water. I had it swapped anyway. I used a jumper battery to run it over to the mechanic for service. Mechanic told me he was surprised it ran. It was showing less than 5 volts when he tested it. So word to the wise check your LOW maintenance battery. It is NOT NO maintenance. I checked my two classic Z's and there batteries were fine. One is a two year Walmart battery going on 7 years! All three batteries are on battery tenders.

My battery is still going strong after 6 plus years (I hope I haven't jinxed myself by posting in this thread). I purchased my car brand new in early January of 2003.
Although my car is only driven one or two days a week it stays in a semi-climate controlled garage which probably has contributed to the battery's longevity.

I just had to replace mine, '03 with 82K on it! Wasn't sure why but my overhead interior lights have stopped working about a month ago. Checked fuses and all, couldn't figure it out. Well, replaced my battery today and their working once again....a design to keep the juice in the battery????

Ha! I'm in MN and have been storing my Z for 4 winters (this is my 5th). The battery is still strong as the day I bought the car in March 2004. I've driven the car to Zdayz twice. I've also taken the car down to southern Georgia for a summer. Been to Miami on a long weekend while I was in GA. This car hasn't really ever disappointed me.
