Exclamation weird tranny noise??

I just bought a 2007 Nissan 350z and there is a strange rattling noise when i shut the car off. Not only that but there is another knocking sound it makes wen it is in neutral at idle which goes away when i depress the clutch. Does this have something to do with the 2007 recall of the clutch slave cylinder?

Normal clutch noise.

Dual mass flywheel.

Either get used to it, or buy a lightweight flywheel and get used to flywheel chatter.

If you want a quiet car... don't get a Z... let alone a sports car.

lightweight flywheel will just amplified the noise. I got a nismo lightweight flywheel on, and it make all the same noises as you describe above. Just relax, there's nothing wrong with your car.

if you're really that worried about that noise, you can just fully depress the clutch in, and then turn off the ignition. the rattling noise won't happen when the clutch is fully depressed because you stop it from spinning right away when you depress it.

Don't worry, you're fine...
I had the same question and doubts when I bought the Z.

So far 13k miles and perfect.

Today I dropped off my Z @ the dealer because my clutch pedal was making an annoying clicking noise when I'd let it of slowly and they said they are changing the Clutch Slave Cylinder. (Recall maybe?! )
