They indicated that this is a newly engineered, problem fixed(beefed up syncros) transmission. I hope so.

Had my Tranny replaced at 29000 after 3rd gear grind. Picked it up yeaterday. They said they tested it. I have tried over and over.....cannot get it into 5th and 6th gear. It makes no movement and no sound when trying to push shifter to those gears. 1st "might" feel a little tight to get into, but 2nd 3rd and 4th feel great. Clutch feels fairly normal(new clutch also). Has anybody else had this same problem with the 32010-CD008 tranny?. Do these symptoms seem related to any linkage adjustments?. Before I talk to them again I just want as much information as possible so I can avoid them making excuses. I know there is the rumor of the newer revision part number...009. I would like to know if the 009 part is documented, and that it will fit on an 03. After checking this out more I realized I was pushing shifter too far to the right in the neutral zone, there is a notch there on the 008 trans. If I don't go that far to the right, 5th and 6th are OK.
I just gotta get adjusted to a slightly different shift pattern movement.

there is an 009 and yes it will fit 03-05 non rev-up motors, however I was told by my service dept that they will only put the 009 trans on 05-06 rev-up Z's. so they'll be replacing mine with an 008. I haven't heard anyone with problems on the 008 and no one seems to know the difference between the 008 and the 009 so I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

008 refers to the model of trans. supposedly there have now been 9 revisions to the trans that they hook up to the Z/G since production. the 009 is the most recent model of course, and they supposedly use it in all current model "rev up" Z/G's. rev up would refer to the 300 hp VQ engine that was available in the 05 track, grand touring and anniversary model Z's as well as all 2006 MT Z's and G's.

Oooops!
Sorry guys. I should have clarified. The replaced transmission was in my 2004 G35.
The transmission in the new 06 Z is absolutely awesome. Smooth and symetrical. Shifts perfectly!
Now I hope it stays that way!
