Default Bought a Z, now fixing front headlights

hey guys I bought an 2006 Z yesterday.....I love the damm thing lots of fun, anyways. the previous owner had put window tint on the headlights as like an eyelid type of thing. I don't like it, and tried to peel the tint off....it didn't go well and i put a few mild s scratches in the headlights. tomorrow I am going to try using steam to get the rest of the tint off....any other ideas on how to do it? the tint is pretty brittal (sp)* and dry. also anyways to remove minor scratches on the headlight?

**moved thread to proper forum..

I would try this stuff called plasticX or something like that......it works decent...it may help

If not, call a few tint shops and ask over the phone what they would use? if they are cool they may give you a few idea's.

welcome to the site......

Welcome. Steam might work. Not sure where you get steam from.

A hot towel might also work. Wring out a towel. Put it in the microwave. Lay it on the lens for a couple of minutes. May soften up the glue.

Are you sure it was your peeling effort that caused the scratches? Tint film is notorious for causing stress cracks in plexiglass.

plastix made by Meguiars may help with the scratches on the lens. You'll probably have to go over it several times. good luck
