Default Noise or Clicking?ticking sound

recently every time from a stop when i slowly accelerate or when i reverse and press the gas there seems to be a clicking/ticking sound. i thought its from the exhausts but im not sure. i have the 05 automatic. is this normal? is there a valve in the exhausts that supposed to open or close and maybe it needs to be oiled??

idk if this is serious or minor.

Search axle clicking. It's no problem and will not result in any additional problems. It's simply noise as a result of a idiosyncrasy of the 350z.

There is a TSB about it. Its basically some grease and tightening down the axle nut. Find the tsb and have it fixed under the extended warranty.

Best bet is a louder exhaust IMO...

it is the axle which needs to be greased. if your vehicle is under warranty you should take it in and they will fix it. it takes the dealership literally 10 minutes to do this, or you can tackle it yourself. it is not hard.

Your answer has already been answered. If you want to get it fixed you can if it annoys you that much. Not in any way does it harm your car. I have had that ticking sound for 65,000 miles nothing has happened yet.

Don't take it to the dealership and tell them to grease your axles, take it to the dealership and tell them there is a noise and explain when it happens. Take out a tech in the car and make it make the noise so they can diagnose it.
