Default Took the plenum off today and found..

Like the title says, I took the plenum off today and found some oil in there..

Valves also have a fair amount of gunk on them:

So I guess my qustion is if this is normal? The car is an 06 base MT with about 38k miles on it. No oil consumptino issues and all stock, but the turbo is on right now and will be officially boosted as soon as the snow melts. I already have a catch can, and it should correct this problem.

What is a good way to get the crap off of the intake valves?

Fixed, not sure why it didn't show the picture.

That, I am not making....they are so cheap it's not worth the time. I did buy one and will put it in.

I am assuming that the only way to get rid of crap on top of the valves is to get injector/intake cleaner. Anyboy have any experience with what works well?

Ive always used AC Delco Carb tune up spray. Works fine for getting about 50-60% off the valves.

Usually injector cleaner wont clean the valves as well as decarb spray directly on the back of the valve. Also the closer the engine is to operating temp the better the carbon will be removed from the valves.

p.s. becareful not to spray too much or you might have a hard time starting the engine.

I am going with this catch can set-up now:

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...n-diy-pix.html

It mounts exactly where I want to mount it & looks awesome(plus it does the job!)
