Exclamation NEED HELP ASAP..slip light comin on intermentilly...

alright

well this is for my girlfriend

shes got an 2005 Nissan 350Z Touring Edition. its got 15,5xx miles. its the automatic.
she doesnt dog the car..amazingly and shes had it since her dad got it for her brand new.

whats happening is that under normal drivin..the SLIP light comes on..and of course the ecu recognizes this and cuts fuel and the throttle.
and if what i know bout cars..its within the ABS sensors etc

it does it at the weirdest times..like out where there is nothing slippery..not even a dang rock

she said it happened after she got her tires rotated..she doesnt have a messed up TPMS..or should does she need to reset the TPMS system since she got em rotated..the chevys at my work have to have that done.

i wanna know if anyone else has expereinced this problem? and if so how to fix it..is it a sensor in the rear end?

her moms takin it to the dealer..but if i can save them some money id love to cause she doesnt know if its still under warranty and idk how long the warranty was..

SO PLEASE HELP ME!

oh and its not throwing any codes

The Z has a staggered tire setup. That means that the fronts and rears are a different diameter. YOU CAN'T ROTATE TIRES ON A Z. Get them put back into the original position. And whoever rotated them for her should be shot - they should have known better.

To verify that this IS the problem, please post back with teh front and rear tire sizes.

There's a lot of things that could be the cause, but I'm putting my money on rotated tires. The front tire OD must be smaller than the rears. That's how VDC/TCS determine if "slip" is occurring - by the relative rotation of the wheels. If you move the big tires to the front and the smalls to the rear, that freaks the system out.

She can turn VDC off and that might help temporarily.

It would be better if the owner posted. I cannot ask you for calcification because, well, you don't have the car.

well seein as how i drive it when im home..i know what its doin..and she dont even know how to explain it..and seein as how when i drive it..it does it i know how to explain..hell ive been with her 3 years now..so i know when her car aint runnin right.

these cars are smooth as rides..you can tell when somethins f*in up

and if you dont understand what i said.

under normal drivin conditions..on a clean *** road(nc puts all there money into roads..lol) it "bogs" down and when this is happening the slip indicator is blinking.

i know when the computer senses this "slippage" it cuts the throttle so the driver as better control on whatever surface..but the thing is..theres nothing its slipping on..but i just talked to my fiance..and she said a jiffy lube rotated em bout 4 months ago which is when it started..so im pretty sure now that it happened..what the guy said above you

Just tell her to read the numbers on the outside of the tires for you... Post them here and the guys can tell you if they are on the wrong way.... I think its a simple fix. Go call her now!!!!

If I was you I double check them to make sure he "un-rotated" them correctly. The OEM tires are directional so make sure they are on the correct side of the car. The tire should have a "Rotation ->" marking on the outside edge to indicate that they are on the proper side.

Right now I'm in Orlando for school, but am moving back to NC in next month. I'm from, and will be moving back to, the Raleigh/Cary area.

Glad you got everything straightened out.

Well, I was working at a BMW dealership and they sent me down here for 6 1/2 months for tech training. It's called the BMW STEP program. I've got four weeks left, finally almost done!!
