Nissan does not sell just the outer portion, only complete units

but you can buy headlights on ebay and customize them if you're into home projects. I don't like the look of OEM, and if you don't want to drop 1500 on headlights, get em from ebay for 200 bucks, and invest some serious time into making them look good. Just another option. It'll cost you 400-600 bucks, but it'll be totally custom.

If it's in your budget, it would be the ideal time to upgrade to the 06 + dual HID setup. Unlike the 03-05 lights, the 06 + use a real projector lense. Light output is 100+% better than the earlier lights. They aren't cheap, but they help freshen up the look of the car, and they outperform the standard, earlier lights as well.

It will be easier if you replace the complete assembly. You only need one. About 112 USD: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...ht_3582wt_1167

it would be interesting to see a comparison in light output from an 03 headlight to a 06 headlight. can anybody do that?

all you would need to do is line both cars up against one another

the 03-05 are a reflector lense internally, and the 06 + are a true projector. The difference in light output and cutoff is tremendous. Plus the 06+ have the added feature of being HID for both high and low beams

except those are not genuine Nissan lights, so who knows what the actual quality is

Nissan actually no longer even offers the 03-05 ones, only the 06 + ones as best I recall

I have an 04, if I were to buy 06+ headlight housings are they just plug and play, or do I need new pigtails?

if the car has HID's already its plug and play. 1 wire (blue) per side for the turn signals needs to be cut, but other than that, it's all direct

i just picked up a set of the 06 Bixenon headlights on saturday and it is a would of a difference... They are plug and play if your car already has factory HID installed. There is 4 or 5 bolt that hold your headlight in, so just take out the boltd and unplug it and reverse the step when putting the new ones in. Super easy job.

Hi all.
Sadly the snow came early and the car went into the garage.

Sweden got alot of rules regarding not modifying the car; you are actully not even allowed to change rims on the car if it is newer then 2001. Luckily no cop every bothers with that strange law; I gues you US ppl are familiar with strange laws since Ive read about a few over at your side aswell

Anyway; im going to order a set of new OEM headlights. Would have loved to get the newer 06 but swedish guverment wants us to use old stuff it seems.

Thanks and sorry for the thread; bare with me
Just wanted to say thanks for all your input.

How are they going to know the difference? Do you think the inspector can tell the difference between pre and post 2006 headlamps?
