Default New Z I bought Has noise

I just got a 05 350z that has 50k on the chassis and 6k on the motor( nissan dealer swapped it due to rocker noise issue, so said the service ppl when i called)

Anyhow, I was driving tonight and I start hearing a rattling when my car is stopped( exhaust is too loud to hear while driving) and apparently the rattle stops when i push the clutch in and returns when the clutch is released. I know its most likely coming from the Trani since i can feel the noise vibrating through the shiftknob into my hand.

I tried searching but no luck, any ideas?

Research the throwout bearing.

My car has the same noise. Your Nissan service dept will probably tell you it's normal.

go7roo7,

While you're looking into replacing the throw-out bearing on your Z, how is the condition of your clutch? Often times it is a sage move to replace both the clutch as well as the throw out bearing in tandem. Assuming that the dealer may not honour your warranty, why pay $38 for a throw out bearing plus labour and end up having to replace the clutch further down the line when you can save on labour costs and just perform the job now?

Tragically, I speak from personal experience on this one..

Does the car have a stock clutch? I have an aftermarket one and I get clutch chatter all the time. Found out that it is normal with some aftermarket clutches. I know my clutch has less than 3k miles on it too.
Dont recall if i feel it in the shift ****.

It's normal, my car does it too.. A lightened flywheel makes it worse btw.

i'm certain its just the normal flywheel chatter on our cars and not the throw out bearing.

typically the throw out bearing will squeak at a given point and not rattle.

cliff notes: flywheel chatter is normal on our cars.

^Confirmed. My tob is screwed and makes a noise when the clutch is depressed only.
