Default Blinking rpm w/video

I have looked all over the internet, and maybe in not using the right keywords. I even check my owners manual, and Haynes manual.

I am having the same issue that Rhinno had in his thread. I tried PM him but no response, He hasn't been on in forever. Post number 6 is exactly what my car is doing.

Here is the video of what its doing.

Does anyone have an Idea why rpm is flashing even at idles. It even does it when the car is off, but the key is in the on position. It doesn't matter how high or low I set the rpm's it flashes.

Any help is appreciated Thank you,

Sanford

I actually think that's exactly what it's supposed to do. I went and checked mine and it blinks whether the engine is running or not. I guess it does that so you know you're on the mode that allows for the setting of the RPM upshift indicator.

IMO the light is to small and plain to catch my attention. Its one of the few functions I think is useless in the 33's.
I know when to shift when the tac starts bouncin <----Joke

I think the blinking RPM is their way of indicating that this is the setting for the blinking up-shift light. Not totally intuitive but with limited "text" space on the gauge, it's the best they could come up with I suppose. I'm sure all of us have seen it but never really noticed it and made the connection.

it means it's ready to adjust your blinking red light shift limiter flux capacitor thing. Just press the button on the side of the tach console again. I just set the rpm light to 8000, cuz it just annoyed me daily driving.

People gotta learn to just push random buttons until something goes away, or breaks.
