Okay my 350z has been making a weird metal sound, and it sounds like it could be coming from the exhaust or possibly the engine.
Any ideas on what it could be? Please.

oh my bad...sorry! lol and kinda, its like a metal ticking sound. but it doesnt sound like grinding. but what section would i put this under? I'm new to this.

where at in tx are you located? maybe see if somebody could take a listen to it, based on this post you will never find the problem

We'd need a lot more details to make any kind of diagnosis. Things like:

Age and mileage of the car

Mods

All the time, only when moving, only when accelerating, only when in a particular gear...

Frequency? related to engine speed, related to wheel speed...

Loudness?

Where the noise appears to be coming from

You get the idea?

Just my two cents; it could be your exhaust rubbing against something. My driver side midpipe is rubbing against the subframe for example and there's a slight metal rattling.

More details would be helpful though.

okay its a 2005 with 66,xxx miles.

the car has no mods

it is kind of loud, I can only hear it if my window is down or if i'm walking around the car.

and it makes the sound all the time, it doesn't matter if its moving or not.

and yes, it sounds like a rattling sound!

and I am in the Dallas area.

Sounds like a loose bolt or a bad mount. Jack it up and try to replicate the sound.
