Default Vibrations while driving on the highway :[

Hey guys,

When I am driving at high speeds(70-90mph), the steering wheel vibrates. Any ideas what the reason could be? I just got new tires all around, got an alignment, and the vibration is still there. Im thinking either the wheel/s are bent, its the hub, or its the spacers and the aftermarket wheels that could be the culprit. I bought these spacers and have them on the front only: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170982599952...84.m1497.l2649

They came with hubcentric rings, but i took them off cuz they didnt stay in place. I have varrstoens. Any ideas and where I should start? Would it be easier to just take it to a mechanic or alignment shop and have them check the entire front end of the car?

i also have some gorilla lug nuts that were supposed to be aftermarket compatible and specs were 5x114.3, but when I took them off I could see some shavings and they don't fit tight. They do fit, and the wheels haven't fallen off yet, but its weird to see shavings where the lug nut connects to the hub. Could this be the reason?

id take it to a shop, too many variables to accurately diagnose without driving it, honestly.

Things id check first

Check with others who have your wheels, did they have issues?
Did you lose a tire weight? Maybe a wheel is out of balance
Make sure the wheels are properly mounted, and the lugs evenly torqued. Its possible for the wheel to be slightly tilted, and the lugs fully tightened. Look at the thread depth for each lug, if visible.

Or this....

Please tell me the wheel studs are OK, that its just the lugs that were stripped

^^The wheel studs are okay, the lug nuts are okay as well. What is shaved/stripped is the part where the round curvy part of the lug nut installs on to the wheel studs and wheel hole. It doesnt seem to sit flush with the rim.

It may be that your tires need to be rebalanced. Usually, when you get new tires and there is vibration, it's due to tires being unbalanced. Go back to the shop that balanced the tires and tell them you have vibrations at high speeds. That should do the trick...

i just came back from the tire shop and had them rebalance the fronts. they said it was perfectly balanced, but i had them redo it. still have vibrations. Could it be because I have aftermarket wheels and spacers installed? The hubcentric rings I got with the spacers don't fit, so I never installed them. Should I purchase these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Polycarbon...cd0d14&vxp=mtr

Not sure what else could be the problem. Wheels aren't bent, wheel bearings and studs looked fine. I'm going to change out the lug nuts tomorrow and see if that helps
