Default Stop Window

How can I make it so the window doesn't go down? My motor is gone but the service guy touched the button and it was hard to get back up. I'm not getting it fixed I just want it so if someone pressed the button or closes the door it will not go up or down.

There is no fuse, so what could I do?

The Z's door glass is designed to drop down slightly so the door glass and the window track don't get damaged by the roof when the door is closed. Just fix the window motor and be done with it.

Trying to save a few bucks on this will end up damaging either a) the glass, b) the roof or c) the window track itself. It'll end up costing you more while you try to save a few bucks.

Just take the door panel off, and unplug the window motor harness, then the window won't go up or down.

I know why it goes up and down. I never had that issue in any car of glass doing damage and I've been driving for 10 years.

I'll have to unplug the harness. Is it easy to get to once off?

Then you clearly don't understand how the Z window functions. If you open and close the door with the window fully up, it could easily damage it. You've been driving for 10 years, great...how long have you been driving a Z and how long has the motor been broken.

Its been like that for over two years and never had an issue. Don't see what the big deal is as it has not caused any damage.

How has it been that way for 2 years if you're just now asking us how to disable the window.

It's not a big deal and it won't harm a thing. Ihad mine disabled for a while and it was fine. This dude is acting like the window will shatter, don't listen to him. Just make sur its all the way up, and unplug the switch or the actual motor harness. You'll see it if ur door panel is off.

The only bad thing about having it disabled is that if it rains? Water will creep in.

It won't creep in you have to unplug the motor while its at it's highest point.

I an asking now because I never use the window because I know it won't go back up. The service tech forgot I told him and used it anyway.

I don't think water will creep in because I stopped it at the highest point and there is no wind noise or water. I tested that out as well
