Default Need help with hatch

My 2003 Z's hatch randomly unlocks itself pretty regularly when the car is unlocked. I have bought a new remote and even left the remote at home with no difference in the problem. When I lock the car it's fine, but you can be driving and it will come unlocked and pop up. Also, the bottom of the hatch now leaks near the lock and not sure if its related. Help!!

Nissan builds solid bodies, so somethig is out of alignment for the hatch to pop open like that. I'd start by checking the hatch struts and making sure they are both properly aligned. Something is putting tension on the hatch itself and causing it to pull away from the latch.

Default Rear hatch randomly unlocks

My 2003 350z will often times unlock the hatch on it's own while it is unlocked (even while driving!). It doesn't fly open obviously, but it does come unlatched unless I lock the doors once inside. Bought a new remote and even left the remote at home with no improvement. Also, the hatch tends to leak near the bottom during a hard rain while parked (if not leaking while parked then it will once you take off from the momentum moving the water into the interior). Not sure if the two are related or not, please help !

Well, I have had the car about 2 years without any problems related to the hatch (other than the struts not really working). When it unlatches, you can hear the motor for the latch working to try and unlock the hatch even though it is already open. It's odd because once the latch in unlocked/popped up, the motor will keep activating half a dozen times or until it decides to quit.

You have a short in your BCM....sucky deal. You can disconnect the connection so that it doesn't pop.

Yes...of course you can replace the BCM. Total cost here in Hawaii including labor was $600, I read its cheaper of course stateside...

Threads merged since your other one was in the incorrect section...

I would get your lock looked at if it's leaking water, that might be your cause.

Not sure if it would be the BCM if this is your only issue

I doubt it's the BCM just because I'm not not having any other kind of electrical issues *knock on wood*
