Default 1 TPMS sensor bad - replace one or all?

The TPMS sensor in my back left wheel has a fault in it. To replace it costs $70, but to replace all 4 costs $280. The car is a 2007 model. Should I just replace the one or do they all need replacement?

Discount tire told me if i just replace one the signal will be too powerful and overwhelm the other 3. That sounds like ******** to me but maybe I'm wrong. I replace tires about once a year so I could replace them as they go bad annually.

I would replace just the bad one. I have a 2003 with TPMS sensors and all are good. Your sensors are 4 years newer than mine.

For sure a strong signal from one sensor will not overwhelm the others. I believe it is usually a battery failure that requires replacement of a sensor.

Only 1 is required ,my car still has 2 of the original sensors from 03. They don't seem to all fail at once.

Replace them all with the rubber stem version. Find them cheaper online. Schrader EZ Sensor #33000. No issues and low maintenance.

Go online and search first for what they call a rebuild kit they'll run about 5.00-7.00 and see if this don't fix your problem before you spend a lot of money on the sensor itself! I've had a lot of problems with mine don't know for sure which one is bad so I've just ignored the light and just keep the air pressure accurate,it's a constant battle trying to keep these sensors working all at the same time!

The rebuilt kit is just new rubber parts, nothing to do with function.

That's BS.

Given that it costs $70 per unit no matter if you do one or all four ($280... what a bargain! ), just do the one.

Somewhere other than at Discount Tire....

Maybe just sell the 3 good ones, deal with a tire pressure light, and come out on top money wise.

I would find a good condition used 07-08 350Z OEM tpms on this forum, ebay or Craigslist for cheap. Then have the tire shop intall them for a small fee or no charge if you purchase tires from them. Try the link below, there is one for sale on eBay right now.

Just about a year ago I bought 4 brand new Schrader OEM sensors from Amazon for ~$85 for the whole set. I also bought a box of 25 service kits (the O-rings, valve stems, and caps) for ~$8. I replaced all 4 because I changed wheels, and for the cost, it would have been silly not to do them all at once. YMMV.

Easy to program them, too, if you follow the directions posted below:
