Default Replace/Fix Broken hood bolt?

Any ideas on how to repair/replace hood bolt? I snapped the damn thing tightening a new nut?

Its one of the 4 studs that go through the hinge

YIKES!!! $200 for a 10 minute job and a spray can of paint........I mean it's not horrendous if you don't have access to a welder. But yeesh! I feel for you man, seriously do. Better luck next time I hope

if i had welding skills, I would attempt.. but the car is pristine and want it done right... bad enough my Heman muscles broke the bolt.. besides they will make the paint look better than I could.. just glad it's not visible from the outside.

Welding skills are mandatory- use too much heat and damage to the paint and surface contours will cost way more than $200. Although I don't know how you weld a steel stud to a aluminum surface...

good point.. from a quick search its common for body shops to have TIG welders (for aluminum welding).. Ill double check with them tomorrow, this is why I'm having the pros do it.

There's an attachment for stud welding. Essentially a big conducting claw. Hit the trigger it pushes one pulse, bam studs welded. Doesn't mar, doesn't push electricity or heat through the entire structure. Very simple and easy to use, just have to make sure it's set right. So yes, no welding skills will require a shop and professional to do it. Good points everyone

You could get a carbon fiber hood, mine just has a threaded section and you use a bolt to attach the hood.
