Quarter panel repair
So i’m looking into buying a 2006 350z, the only downside to it is it was in an accident where the hitter didn’t have insurance so it was never fixed, so the damage done was the quarter panel was dented and it looks like one of the lights might be broken. What would be the estimated cost to fix it?

The problem is the rear QP has dual wall construction. To do it correctly, the entire panel needs to be cut out and a new one re-welded in place. Together with primer, two stage paint and clearcoat, the job typically totals the car.

Oh wow I didn’t realize that. It’s a 2006 with a 134,000 miles on it and I was going to buy it for $4000, is it not as good of a deal as it seems?

I'd take it to a body shop and try to negotiate the price with that estimate.
Has the engine been replaced? some of the RevUp engines had an oil consumption issue.
I find it's tough to negotiate too much without pissing off sellers. But a shrewd buyer could use those points to get the price way down.
I would think you could maybe pull the outer skin of the quarter out, then fill the rest. I mean it is a very cheap car. Just depends if you or a friend can do some body work or not.
