I have an airbag on/off switch and my light comes on quite often now.

I can reset it by following this procedure:

Turn on ignition, but don't start car.
the airbag light should stay solid and then go off (or blink in your case)
immediately turn the car all the way off and wait 3 seconds.
repeat 2-3 times
and then start the car.

the trick for me is to push the key in when turning off so that it quickly turns all the way off. it's not an exact science but it works.

if you don't know why it's coming on, I'd really suggest taking it to get checked out... you never know, maybe the valet stole your airbag and kidney's while you weren't looking... j/k...

I was just having some trouble with my airbag light as well. I had more stereo work done on my car the other day, and the installer accidentaly unplugged the driver's seat to remove it, without disconnecting the battery. My airbag light started flashing from this. He told me he would get his friend who is a dealer to bring his computer over to fix it, but I didn't want to have to wait till next weekend for that.

noahbuddy, you instructions were very helpful, but didn't seem to do the trick for me, maybe I was just reading them wrong, but in case dwizzay interrprets them the way I did, here's what wound up working for me:

-turn car on(not started), wait for airbag light to start flashing at me.
-turn car off and back to on in rapid sequence, about 3 times.
-end with the key in the off position.
-Start the car and voila, no more blinking!

Thumbs up

I Did it exactly like told to an it worked. I would like to know what triggered it. I was entering an on ramp at a conservative rate (80+) and all of a sudden the light came on. Thanks man, you saved me. I really don't trust those knuckheads at the dealer.

Airbag light seems to come on when I really hammer the car. Going to have the dealer look into it.

Update: The cars side curtain air bag was defective. The dealer ended up replacing the entire unit. So if the light keeps coming on, then you have a problem.
