To turbo or not to turbo....

To turbo or not to turbo....
How many folks have turbos, but aren't doing any major drag racing or anything like that? if you aren't racing then why do you have turbos? Do you often find yourself burning up the streets more than you need to? And how many tickets have you got in 2007? Just a thought that ran across my mind while idling here at my desk at work. Don't flame or say this thread is worthless. Just curious. For the record, no I'm not getting a turbo or a supercharger. just N/A mods.

I don't really race, but Im looking to. I did it b/c i wanted to have a little more fun with it. In 2007 I only have one speeding ticket and it wasn't even in my car. The biggest thing for most is the affordablility of it. Its definitely pricey and not for the faint of heart. Stuff is bound to break and happen. Thats just something you have to expect.

alright I won't flame you but I am positive somebody will. I am F/I without any intentions to drag. Personally I went boosted to fully enjoy my vehicle, nothing beats the rush and TQ slamming you in the seat. And it is just flat out fun as hell to drive a boosted car from the speed to the "status" so to say.

also it is a big plus for show cars, Robbie (driven) put it very well. Just a blast to drive! when my car is done cp2 i'll give you a ride and you can decide whether you really don't want to go boost

only problem with the boost and the status is that it is addicting.
First you want to be in the FI status (single turbo, supercharger, or twin turbo status)
Or the infamous Twins Status (twin turbo)
then you want to graduate to the BUILT twin turbo status
and later onto the BUILT and SLEEVED twin turbo status
and eventually on to the 18-22 psi. race gas tuned built and sleeved twin turbo status
and somewhere in there is the 500 whp club, 600 whp club, and so on.
it's just limited by your pockets.

I dont have a speeding ticket in over 4 years. I did it to make the car more fun. After building, its supercar levels of acceleration, unless you have ridden in something with over 500whp you have no idea what it feels like. Not a fair comparison but my car in drag form on low boost has times faster than an Enzo, any Lambo you name it. And thats with MUCH more power in store, the feeling is unbelievable. Nothing like merging onto the highway in 3rd, blasting through 4th looking back and seeing traffic 200yds away....
