Even if it weren't electronically limited, do you really think it could go that much faster than 155mph? (assuming it's still stock of course)

I think the car could hit 160, but I haven't calculated where the gearing runs out in 6th

considering my Maxima that has just under 200fwhp can go about 155....I'd say the Z would have no problem hitting 160.

When I plugged in the gear ratios into gear calculator at reverendsgarage.net, it said that the theoretical topspeed in 6th gear was 180.

Default Top speed (so far): 157 MPH!

This was the indicated speed on my digital readout. Had a long stretch of clear highway and my track model streetched out to reach that speed. Funny, I wanted to see what the speed limiter did, but never felt any type of fuel cutoff or spark interuption at 155.

I worked out the gearing to be 185ish.

Did you top out at 157? Or, did it feel like it had room to go?

I think we will top out before redline tho, from viewing the dyno graphs, we drop off pretty sharply after max power, so as resistance increases and power decreases, unless we can do 180mph or whatever with less than max hp, I dont think that will happen.

in many cars top speed is redline in 5th, rather than 6th, since they cant muster up enough hp to keep accelerating in 6th. but we have far more hp than most cars.

We will definitely top out before redline...I just don't think we're going to be hitting 180 mph

I would, however, like to see 160+mph

I hit 155mph at 5700rpm and there was planty or room for more. The car made it there pretty easily, so 165 is very doable.

Default top speed

An older article, can't remember which, saidthe Z was governed at 155, but could reach 170 drag limited. Sorry I can't supply a source for that number, maybe yes, maybe no. The 155 is an often quoted governed maximum, however.
