at first it wasn't something I was going to invest in, but then I got more and more interested in them, and figured we would give it a shot, albeit with a different approach than has been done to date on the VQ. Hopefully it works out well

I'll be done with it in March, but I don't know when I will be putting in the car. I'm think I'll get the exterior stuff done then worry about the installing the motor, longtubes, etc. Going back to school has slowed everything down.

how come you guys dont provide a service for installations?

you would probably open up the doors to so much more money if you also did this stuff for customer cars. (engine builds, etc)

NY needs a good shop for things like this

because we have no interest in working on other people's cars, simple as that We've been around a long time (since 1996) - we've had the "typical" shop before, where we did installs and such, but it just wasn't that enjoyable. I vastly prefer the way things are now

i see, understood. unfortunate to hear tho

it sucks that NY has no great reputable shops like you guys, GTm, or forged, etc, shops that really know what the VQ can do, to rely on for things like this

So i guess that excludes setting up shop down here in OZ????

After way too long reading this entire thread, my brain hurts, and the Mrs (and my wallet) isn't happy... You have quite successfully set me to doing more work to my Z. Cheers for the inspiration, and good luck with the rest of the build. Will continue to keep track of it all.

Shane.

are you staying with the same exhaust and y pipe for this next phase? I'd be interested to see if you would benefit from motordyne's new y pipe and/or exhaust.

I have too much else on my plate, and enjoy my setup too much, to waste time and money swapping exhausts.

can't see how it would present an issue so long as there is no hard code CEL stored. I'm not going to be using an OEM cluster

Prhaps its different with shops you know. I went through inspection with no codes but he wasn't passing it without the MAF sensors missing O2 sensors on the cat and bunch other stuff. Its just been PITA for me to get the car on the road.

Wow that's unfortunate. Message me your address, I might be able to ask some friends in the area and see if anyone can help

I assume that you mean that your rear o2 sensors and the MAF sensor are missing?

Must have been a pretty sharp inspector.
