I am looking into a slight issue with the low rpm cruising. With a little gas, the car gurgles and bogs til it reaches 3500rpms (correlates directly with torque curve). I think this could be related to the MAF housing being too large and the airflow coming from a restrictive 72mm stock airbox, too, just not enough airflow and what does come is swirling right in front of the MAF sensor.
If anyone has any anecdotal offerings in regards to their driveability in the low rpms, it would be helpful and informative for
anyone following along.
Before I acquired the larger MAF housing, I placed an order with GTM for a 3" MAF. Interestingly enough, the part just came due last week and I'll see if those problems can iron themselves with their housing, which is smaller than the current stuff. Also, 1cockyz has talked about the mustang guys having the same MAF sensor and it's irritability with housings larger than 75mm, mentioned previously in this thread. Mind you, these cars can make much more than 300whp with this housing.
BTW, thanks for the awesome posts, Sasha! Interested to see the shift in torque pulses with a more suitable header for my setup.

Check if the AFRs are wavering between lean and rich with the O2 sensors un-plugged (to eliminate O2 FB). If the AFRs are steady (which I am sure they won't be), then I would try a few things:
Play with cam timing, reduce overlap if possible (full retard on intake, advance the exhaust)
Reduce ignition timing, which may help reduce the surging just by making the engine a bit lazier, requiring a bit more throttle, hopefully smoothing things out.
Looking forward to seeing your results with some real headers!

Thanks for the tips, Sasha. I will share with RT when I bring the car back to them in the next few weeks.
For anyone interested, a quick vid of engine bay at idle:

Keep in mind, I do have motor mounts, so I expect a little more noise than usual. I appreciate any comments.

Now that the Brembos are installed, I'm looking to upgrade the suspension, which is probably the first thing I should have looked to modify before doing this whole build.
I don't mind the stock ride height and lowering it would put the body kit directly in the way of horrible NJ roads, although this isn't a daily driver. To be honest, I'd like to keep it on the track as much as possible; Englishtown is only 10mins from my house. Sadly, I'm yet to go. Let's plan something, local Zs! Dr. Venture, Duke, 1cockyz, Boomer, Zpaaji (have to stop by your shop, too)?
I've been looking to put a 07-08 350z Nismo suspension on the car. These are cheaper than new coilovers, obviously, and allow me to keep the factory height, but also be a little more aggressive in the twisties. I'll likely look for a set of hotchkis sways to complete my suspension setup. Questions and comments welcome.

a NISMO is lower than a stock Z is
idle the car at 1500 or 2000? on purpose? there should not be any need...it's all in the tuning IMHO. I don't even have an idle control motor on my car at this point and it idles at 1050-1100

I do have the P2A03 code still, which suggests there might be a leak somewhere. Upon inspection of the block, I found that there may be a valve cover leak on the driver's side as well. I also noticed oil coming from the oil cooler lines. There are def a few kinks to be worked out. When I bring the car back to RT for storage, I'm going to have them go over everything to make sure it's all good.
