I am sure you will love it!

I called the machine shop. They have not started. He said the same thing he said last week verbatim, EXCEPT there is somehow a boat motor ahead of mine when last week it was just a Buick motor.

Best part is the motor in my car has stopped consuming oil (reason this started) I really am thinking about packing it in and selling my parts off.

Last Tuesday (8/27) I said will you at least guarantee it will be done by the end of September he said yes. Today he said it's only the end of the first week in September. I said you have not touched it, he had the nerve to say it was unreasonable for me to expect it to be done in a week. I said I did not, but I do have a right to expect it to have started after 3!

Pay me to fly out there, I will have the motor together and in the car in a weekend, as long as everything is machined right and the heads are done right!

My build starting from the first time my engine started knocking, march 26th (my birthday...) to completetion including receiving all of my parts, machining, assembly and working out all of the mechanical kinks took about 3 months, but I had it running in just over 2, you started BEFORE me and I am sorry to see things go this way for you!

I started collecting parts over a year ago. I was ready to start the build about six weeks before I started this thread (3 7 11) but the shop owner kept putting me off.

If we start at that date it has been six months and 3 days and I still gave a disassembled motor.

I am honestly shocked I am not more pissed off about it. patience is not one of my virtues.

Seriously, I will take 4 days off from work and help you get that motor back in that car for a decent price!

Part of the reason I collected parts for a year were delays. I understand some parts are hard to get. I never expected it to take as long to get it built as it did to get the parts.

I really am on the brink of giving up & selling the motor.

I actually had really good luck with parts, 90% of my parts I bought from import parts pro in Houston, shipped really quick and excellent customer service! I wish I had more money to stroke the motor like you did! Don't sell it! I know the exact shoes you are in, it sucks a super huge D but when it is all said and done, I love how much more responsive the car is, knowing how healthy of a motor I have, the extra power and how durable it is! Stay with it and finish it bro!

I got several things from IPP. No issues of any kind.

I agree, the bc crank take forever? How much was that crank and the kibbles and bits to make that happen

The crank was 2500, the time consuming things were the pistons which were custom ordered by BC from JE and the S7 JWT cams which were backordered.

I am sure there were issues with other things but I just don't remember right now seeing as most of it has been in my possession for over 8 months.

Then there was the time getting the block bored, the heads assembled, which had a severe delay because the Manley valves stems that are .06" bigger than stock. Then there was the delay caused by the block not having been clearanced for the crank so it went back to the machine shop.

I had forgotten about 1/2 of that. It's tiring really.

I told Sharif @ Forged what I wanted (drivability, decent idle reliable TORQUE) etc and he pretty much speced the build which included the S7s.
