the starter wouldnt turn over because some other stuff was still not put together. once i had it all together, it fired right up the first time, no leaks, no codes.
the reason i was trying to turn it over before it was all together is because the builder who put the block together said to do it that way. it makes sense to have good oil pressure before turning the engine over under compression. not tightening down the spark plugs all the way kept compression down. oh well, doesnt matter, car is running
and about the pcv, if it is tuned right, then vacuum should be very low or nonexistent at wot, which is when blowby is probably at its worst. i plan to take the car to the track and it will see a lot of high rpms for extended periods of time, so i want to make sure it will vent.

it made all sorts of crazy noises right after i started it cause of no oil pressure, but sounds good now. exhaust note is def deeper even with the stock midpipe and muffler

im very comfortable with how the timing went. i did the exact same thing as bjmax and i think he is making over 500hp. i know for a fact i did both heads the same, so it wouldn't make sense for only bank 2 to be having issues and bank 1 being fine. plus, i think i would have gotten more codes if it was off more, but maybe not

p0021
its bank 2 camshaft sensor actuator A over advanced
could be the vtc controller
could be the thicker dino oil im using for breakin
could be my cams
but im am pretty much certain that my timing chain is hooked up right. especially since it only seems to happen at higher speeds and rpms.

- Harness or connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve may be faulty
- Crankshaft position sensor (POS) may be faulty
- Camshaft position sensor
Did you also get à p0300? Or rough idle?

I've had that before, twice... once was the actual solenoid, the other was my timing. The timing was off by so little the car still made 290 on a Dyno-Jet and ran fine. However the tuner noticed something odd when tuning but still made decent power so he dismissed it.
One thing I noticed when it was a timing issue was it wouldn't idle in gear worth a crap. It would buck like crazy at idle and just above, less than 2000.

my idle in gear is fine, but there are definitely hard starts at times. im guessing the thick oil is not flowing through the vtc sprockets that well, my next idea is the vtc sprocket itself then. i found a volt test for the vtc sprocket so ill try that first, otherwise ill just wait and see if it comes back when i get full synthetic in the car
