Part of the beauty of a purely power:weight format....pretty sure the E36 actually ran 245's so he could run about 320whp and still keep the weight low.

Never made it to the drag strip. Ran into other issues, but that's another story. This car is consuming my life!!! So I spent much of the day yesterday and today so far working on it. Holding out hopes I can still make the Mid Ohio event next weekend. I spent a lot of time making a new splitter out of Alumalite. It is almost done.

Oh...and I am pretty sure I found my issue that was causing my problems on the dyno. I found the crank position sensor was loose. Man am I embarrassed. It wasn't super loose but enough I could wiggle it with my hand. The bolt was tight, but sensor loose. I grabbed the wrong size bolt and the one that was in there was too long and bottomed out before the sensor was tight. I removed that bolt and put one in there that actually tightened the sensor. I am sure that thing was vibrating and moving around a lot at high RPM (especially with solid motor mounts) and that might be what freaked the ECU out. I am about 90% sure that was my issue. As precaution though, I replaced the IVT solenoids and cam sensors. Trying to schedule dyno this week so I can make first event Saturday/Sunday next weekend. If he can fit me in, I can finally get this thing tuned and get it out on track.

Here is pic of splitter in the works. Working on air dam now to seal around front of bumper. Do you even downforce bro?

Dyno scheduled for Thursday at 10am. If all goes well, I can actually make the Mid Ohio event this weekend. Finished splitter/air dam today. Have few odds and ends things left, but most importantly is getting this thing tuned. Can't wait. Stay tuned for results for real this time hopefully.

Still having issues. I can't win!!!!

I played with the cam table a ton to get the random "going to zero" problem to clear. There was a point it was almost 100% gone, but I would do another pull and it would be back much worse without even changing anything. I never even put the big intake on because apparently my injectors are showing 95% which I am not sure how because it only made 270whp. That seems very low to me for the injectors to be that maxxed out.

Still going to go to Mid Ohio this weekend and run. I won't have power that I wanted, but oh well.

Still need to get to the bottom of the issue though.

Great News!

Car and motor held together for first track weekend. Better news... I fixed the cam timing dumping to zero issue. It ended up being an electrical bug caused by a faulty kill switch. Once I bypassed the alternator posts on the kill switch all my dash light flickering went away which was also an issue. I did some data logging on track Sunday morning and confirmed everything is working as it should now. So glad that is fixed, but sucks I wasted two visits to the dyno.

Now to get the fuel issue fixed and get this thing back on the dyno for hopefully the last time.

Here is a pic of the car in the paddock. I love the way the new bumper turned out.

LOL Thanks!

I didn't really put in this thread how I made it. It's made out of alumalite. There was a place here in town that I bought a 4x8 sheet of it for around $120. I have the air dam made out of thin aluminum. I'll have to snap more pics of it some time.

Here's the latest. I know stock injectors should be able to handle the power the car is putting down, but I am tired of wasting time on the dyno. The issue could be the pump or something faulty with current injectors. I have some GTR injectors on the way and I am going to get a Walbro fuel pump. This should be more than I'll ever need. I am going to do another race in May in PA the way the car sits now with stock intake and all that. After that race I will schedule yet another dyno appointment with new injectors and pump installed. This better be the last time I am there. Shooting for 300whp again. Car was making 270 with stock intake and running out of injector. We will see where i end up. I will post up when the dyno day is. Probably towards the end of this month.

I'm guessing he means one he put in for racing to kill all electrical in case of a crash

Yes ^^^^

The kill switch I installed for racing. It's a safety requirement once you start wheel to wheel racing. That was the culprit all along. Wasted a lot of money on the dyno for that stupid thing.

I am glad to be passed that now. GTR injectors came in yesterday, too.

GTR injectors and Walbro fuel pump acquired. Dyno scheduled for 2pm on May 30th.

This better be the last time...lol

I cannot wait to see if I can get 300whp.
