Not too bad with a second person helping. once the motor was hoisted maybe 10 minutes before it was seated on there well.

Random question. Stock injectors should be able to handle up to around 320-330whp right? I think I am safe with them. I will upgrade if needed, but I don't think it's necessary, but I am also not 100% on that. I will be running pump gas for now.

If you go off of the general consensus of 1cc of injector per 1hp on a 6 cyl then ~290whp

I made a bit over 300 hp on stock injectors, I don't remember how much % of the injectors were being used. There are some (very old) NA threads that they made 320-330 hp and it wasn't sgsash. I don't remember him replacing his injectors.

Thanks for the input. I recall reading the injectors are 290cc, but at the standard flowrate or something of that nature. I guess the Z uses more pressure in the fuel system than the 'standard' and at that pressure they are 330cc.

Something along those lines. I don't recall the numbers.

Screw it! Put it all together and when you are tuning it, if you run out of fuel, you will know!

No codes! I do have a strange noise from the front of the engine. I need to figure it out. It's like a whining sound...kind of. It could be a number of things. I am so glad this thing started up and ran though and didn't blow up or throw any strange codes...lol

This is a small victory for me considering how much I had this thing torn down. I was shocked to see no codes. Just need to figure out what this noise is. I only let it run for about 5 minutes. Hopefully nothing too serious. Once I can get that worked out, I will schedule dyno.

Noise issue resolved! It was power steering pump. No biggie. Man am I relieved. Did cam break in, in the garage and probably pissed off all my neighbors, but I had no choice. They need to understand I am building a race car and don't want to ruin $1200 set of cams...lol

Have to piece together a few more things. Hoping to be on dyno next Saturday or the Saturday after.

More to come!

Spent everyday after work this week putting the rest of the car back together and getting things ready for the first event. Dyno shop is booked solid unfortunately. It's looking like I will have to take a day off work or half day to be able to fit into his schedule during the week. Shooting for some time this coming week. Taking the car to my buddies house today to do alignment and see how much this thing weighs. I am hoping around 2850 without me in it. It has between 1/2 and 3/4 tank of fuel right now so it may be on the heavier side.

Finally got the hood bracing cut out that was needed so the hood would shut with the new intake. Here are some pics.

Did some preliminary tuning at my buddies house since he is in the country and I can rev to the moon with no complaints. I got the AFR dialed in enough through the rev band so it is safe enough to put on the dyno now. I was able to rev it to 7500 a couple times which is awesome! The upgraded rod bolts are doing their job and nothing flew into a million pieces so I am very relieved. It needs to rev to at least 7200-7400 for these cams to come alive. Trying to work a dyno day in this week.

Another note; still having cold start issues with this TB. Like mentioned in a hundred posts back, once its warmed up it seems to idle ok. Playing with the TB table in Uprev seems to have no effect on it. I tried setting it so that the TB will be open more at idle and it seems to not change it. It's really strange. I know some others that had issues with this table as well. A full stand alone would probably be the best way to go for this, but I can deal with cold start issues if that is the worst thing. Once its warm it operates fine and revs no problem. I may try doing what the Titan guys did when they had this issue and drilling a hole in the blade. I think the issue is that the blade is not opening enough when its cold and suffocating the engine. I am not sure what table in Uprev controls this. I do see there are idle target tables that are set at a given coolant temp. I tried increasing that for cold start and again didn't seem to help much. It's like the ECU can't control this TB at cold startup like it does the OEM TB.

Cold start issues resolved. Drilled 3/16" hole in blade and it starts up pretty much normal now. No dying upon start or anything. So it does seem that the blade does not open enough when its cold since having that hole there pretty much proved that theory. Yet another big relief of something that I don't have to deal with. In the garage right now doing the alignment and going to weigh the car too. This project is almost to an end....finally.
