Dyno day scheduled tomorrow at noon. This guy is super booked and I have to take a half day from work to make this happen unfortunately. I have a couple hour window tomorrow to get all the tuning done. Since the time frame is narrowed, I most likely won't get to test both intakes. I would love to but it all depends on how things go.

Fingers crossed for 300whp!!! Hoping for 320 but realistically that probably won't happen.

I just read through the entire thread, and I consider doing this similar intake mods to my HR. It won't be that size though, lol. Got any update of this beast on the dyno?

Dyno day not so well today. Car is having issues and pulling loads of timing around 5200 rpm. Not sure the root cause of it. I am talking with some folks about possibilities. Strange thing is, I put stock MAF, TB and plenum back on and its doing the same thing. Starting to think its mechanical. You can see in the logs that the cam solenoid % dumps to 0 for some reason and right after that, timing goes to hell and power is gone. No codes either. To be continued.

On a brighter note, looking at what little graph I have, the car is making the same power at 4800 that my old motor made at peak. I think its got 300+ in it once I get this ironed out.

At 4800 rpm it looks like my engine made about 232 hp.

Nice!
I am not far off that at all. We will see what happens once I get this sorted out.

Checked timing chain; all links are perfect and all timing marks spot on. No links any teeth off. Replaced both cam sensors and will replace crank sensor. Going to zero out the cam table too. Going to drag strip (with a road race car, I will probably look like a dbag, but oh well...lol) on Sunday to do some data logging. This is way cheaper than burning $100/hour on dyno. Hopefully I can pinpoint issue or replacing those sensors helps. I have a feeling its a tuning issue. If all ends well on Sunday, I will scheduled dyno again.

I would love to, but I have to drive through a decent amount of rural areas first before I get there. Where I live, I know people would complain and the car would get impounded. There are no tags on the car anymore, therefore not registered either.

What can you do to make your 350Z compete with a Z06 in TT3??

Tin can and lots of aero. Unfortunately they do the same thing, but ballast up or restrict the motor.

The spoiler to the Z06 East Coast winners could be Chris Mayfield in an S54 E36 if he makes the trip from CO to VIR in Sept...

Yea the Z06's run big power and heavy weight with a ton of perfectly placed ballast and moster tires or detune both with loads of aero. My buddy (ST3 National Champ) runs detune to 330whp at around 3100lbs or so with 200lbs of ballast in his car and runs 275 tires. He has his car tuned to make 330whp around 4700 RPM or so all the way to redline so its basically making 330whp the entire time its on track.

Hard to compete with that if the driver is really good.
