Default My new 03 Track w/dyno

Picked up my 2003 Track model 2 weeks ago. I love it! So happy I went with the 350z. I was split between the 350z and the sti. I drove my friends sti for a few days and i couldn't stand it. Although its pretty quick, it just wasn't as enjoyable to drive as the 350z. Not to mention the fact that the 350z is so beautiful, and we all know how ugly the sti is.

Yesterday I went to the Camel event at Rhys Millens place in Huntington Beach. They offered free dyno runs and I wound up putting down 261hp and 243tq stock. Tell me what ya think.

That's what I thought. I was expecting 245-250ish. I'm guessing the dyno reads high.

I got 247 on a Mustang dyno in not so optimal conditions and I have full exhaust and headers.

Welcome! I got mine baselined on a Mustang Dyno and it peaked at 255-256...so makes sense once it's broken in a little to read that high.

Are those the stock forged track wheels chromed? Whoever did that needs to be slapped. No offense to you personally (unless you did it haha!)...that's just two entirely different schools of thought. Forged=lightweight, all business. Chrome=heavyweight, bling.

I told myself that I would never buy a car with chrome wheels, but this car had everything else that I wanted on it. The color was right, the model was right, and it has leather inside too (aftermarket I believe, track didn't come with leather did it?). I don't mind the wheels for now, but I will probably change them out when i get new tires. Does chrome really add that much weight to the stock track wheels?

As a side note, there was a G35 coupe 6mt at the event as well. Shooting a 75 shot of NOS he made about 332whp. He then changed the nozzle to a 15 shot, but I guess he put the wrong fuel nozzle in. As a result he hit 241whp.

Correct, the Track does not come w/ leather.

Chrome typically doesn't really add weight...it's just that the types of rims that are done in chrome are often blingy which go for looks 1st, weight 2nd.

Thanks. The more I drive it, the more I love it. I bought it at the Nissan dealership in Rancho Santa Margarita. Its definetly a track model though. The seats aren't power, no bose system, and i've got the brembos and spoilers. My buddy has a Touring model, it seems like he has more interior goodies, while I have more exterior goodies.

What also differentiates the Track model from other models?

You basically said it: Brembos, rear spoiler, air diffusers under the car (check for a black plastic strip under your front bumper), and the Ray rims which are lighter than the other Z rims. That's really all there is to the Track. You can get Navigation, more airbags, and other accessories but basically it's the Brembos and lack of extra fluff that is the difference. The Touring is the pimp daddy w/ all the nice things.

And 03 black Tracks are the best model ever. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
