Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Gary, I'm from Keystone Heights Fl. I just traded my 07 Cobalt SS/SC in for an 07 350Z Base. I'm glad I did, the Z is so much nicer. I wish I would have skipped the Cobalt and got the Z to begin with! I'll post up some pics here in a little while when the sun comes up and I can take a few

I'm new to 350Z's but I've had numerous older Z's. I'm currently building an 88 Shiro Special that should hopefully be close to 400whp. Looks like it will still be 6 months to a year before its finished but I am ready! This is a nice site to BTW, I hope to be part of it for a long long time.

 

The Shiro is in pretty rough shape. I rescued her from the junkyard. She has some body damage, I've still got to get body parts for it. The engine was seriously neglected. Busted exhaust studs, some sort of goo in the coolant, freezed plugs are done. The pistons, crank, heads, and cams all look spectacular though... I've got almost everything to fix it. The engine is pretty much completely torn down right now, just need to get a clutch, hoses and belts then put it back together. I'll throw up some pics of it as well. Its not pretty by any means though. I'm about to go out now and snap a few pics of the 350.

Welcome, nice looking Z33. The Z31 has some potential, not too far gone. So what other Z's have you owned?????

 

I've had 2 280ZX's, 3 Z31's- 85 Turbo, 86 NA, and now the Shiro. I also had a 240Z, it had no title and was rusted to hell, but we stuck a L28 w/L24 head, header, Bob Sharp intake and Holley 4 barrel. She was fast, but the rust pretty well ate it up.

I also had a 92 240SX that we stuffed a VG30ET into. It was a monster, would smoke the tires thru 4th. Our fab skills sucked so it wasn't exactly safe, the front suspension got screwed up to say the least, so we took the engine and tranny out. I gave the car to a kid I work with whose wife wouldn't let him buy a project car.

 

Wow, you really are a Zeddict!!!! The old 240z now, if they're not primo, do tend to end up as parts cars. Sounds like your one was a pretty damn cool in it's time.

Lol, I bet that kid's wife wasn't too thrilled. Lol.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! Yeah I am sort of a Z addict. I don't know what it is but I love them all. I'm loving the 350 so far too bu I am having this really strange problem though. I've almost been wrecked 3 times so far! I'm starting to think the thing is a collision magnet.

I've had maybe 2 or 3 close calls in the Cobalt in the 2 years I had it. The Z has had 3 near misses in less than a week! Saturday 4 hours after I got it, I almost got rear ended by a freaking Honda Civic. Monday morning on the way home from work a truck in front of me lost a wheel barrel out of its bed that was bouncing straight for me! Now this morning a huge Dodge dually just came across the double yellows and almost hit me head on!! WTF! I'm scared to see what tomorrow brings!
