and it’s the 6 speed manual. Any suggestions for hp upgrades? Running it stock now and just want sum simple upgrades that won’t take too much know how and maybe won’t break the bank. But not too worried on price too much right now

Welcome. It really depends on your goals.

First recommendation would be to change out all the fluids (trans, diff, brake, ps, etc.) unless you have documentation that they were done recently.

Most will suggest that you lose the current wheels for something lightweight.

Unless you're going FI, $2K-$3K in bolt-ons (depending on parts quality) with a proper tune will get you about 20-30 whp.

I'm not sure how many miles are on it, but if it still has the stock suspension, it's probably time for some fresh components like struts and bushings. A set of aftermarket sway bars will bring it to life in the twisties.

Best advice would be to do nothing at first (except for fluids) and drive it for a solid 6-12 months to get a feel for it. After that, you'll know what areas you want to improve. If you're just looking for more power at that point, you may decide to go another direction.

Would suggest you start by skimming through here: https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...questions.html

Specific questions? Use the search function OR use Google with site:my350z.com at the end of the query. Just about anything you could want to know is right there. Heel's remarks above are dead on as well.

Enjoy the ride. That's a sweet vert.

Except I forgot to mention driver mod and enrolling in driving school

Also - since you have the '06 rev-up, a lot have issues with oil consumption so keep an eye on that oil level! Based on the amazing design of the dipstick, you need to let it sit for a couple hours or check it first thing in the morning before driving it in order to get accurate readings.

Enjoy that ZR while it's still top-down weather!

Thanks. U guys are the ****. It’s got 80k on the speedo. I’m not in any rush to get rid of the rims. But I will definitely spend time researching which I have been. And yea that oil thing is quite annoying but well worth it.

Welcome !

My opinion, I wouldn't rush into any upgrades...

I have ZERO upgrades, and have a blast every day driving the car As Is, as it came out the factory 15 and half years ago.

While this forum isn't the most active place on the web, there is plenty of knowledge and experience to gain from it.

The wheels are hideous, yuck! Also, take normal pics, it hurts people's eyes to try and look at that sort of angle.

That said, changing the fluids is a good idea, as someone mentioned already. Toss a CAI, plenum spacer, and exhaust on there and it should be good enough for what you want.

I think subarus are hideous. Some of the funkiest looking cars on the road.
I think the wheels fit the car well and I would always check to see what the car of any critic looks like prior to entertaining said critics criticism.
