New-ish 350z Owner
Just bought my first car on May 4th, a 2006 350z. I wanted a car with enough power to put a smile on my face every time I drive it and reliable enough to not drain my pockets. Four months later, I’ve had zero issues with the car (knock on wood), and I really couldn’t be happier with it. So far I’ve only done some cosmetic modifications, and a cat-back exhaust. I’m not sure what’s next, but so far, I’ve been having more fun with the car than I ever dreamed I would. I looked for months for the perfect Z that was in my price range and finally found one that was perfect for me. Everyone told me the manual transmission was the way to go, so that made it even trickier to find one seeing as they’re more sought after, but I finally got it! I love cars, but I’m definitely no expert, so I’m hoping I can learn some valuable information from all of you on this forum and expand my knowledge on the Z, and cars in general. Photo with the white wheels was when first bought it, the second is what I’ve changed thus far. Love it or hate it, I couldn’t be happier with how my car looks 😊. We shall see what comes next.

People will flame you no matter what mods you do, especially if it doesn't fit their style. You love the car and how it looks and until they pay for your mods their opinion is irrelevant. The wheels are tasteful, imo, and look good on the car.
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your Z!

Haven't seen a murdered out Z in a long time and yes, I'd be curious about whether (and how much) the headlight smoke affects light output. I mean, I'm running a full Morimoto 50w conversion inside new '06+'s and still want 75w for those Hwy 9 midnight hill runs! Hahahahaha. <===That's the look of oncoming drivers if I did that so, uhh, no.
But ya, nice 33. You might want to consider spacing the wheels but that's just my $.02.

Not as much, but enough.
There’s less illumination, but with the xenon lights there’s enough light to keep me comfortable at night. In fact, the next thing I had planned to do was change the headlights themselves. I’m looking at a set of headlights that have a black “back” to them, so they’ll still give off the same look, but with more visibility (no need for the tint film), and they have some awesome looking LED daytime running lights 😍, so I think it will look even better. No doubt, there’s way more visibility without the smoke film, but enough for me to safely maneuver at night, and for oncoming traffic to be able to see me.

I thought the same thing about the wheels, what would you recommend? I know some owners run bags on their car, but I’ve heard coil overs are the way to go. Funny you should mention that because I had been thinking about it, but I’ve been in denial of the odd spacing and telling myself it looks fine 😂.

I see your plate! lol
No, I believe Mic means spacing horizontally (outwards). You'd need spacers to do it, not a suspension drop.
The answer to the best suspension setup is going to depend on what you want to do with the car? Clean stance and just cruising, bags all the way. Roadracing/drag/autocross, something else would be preferable. It all depends on your end goal and overall budget.

Thats only the temp 😝
but actually, thanks for clarifying that, and thanks for the input. I’ll do some more of my own research and try to find what’s best for what I’m looking for. 👍

There is 16 years of knowledge and excellent information under the "Brakes and Suspension" section. Definitely read through that.
