I read your 'book' of a post. At least it was well thought out. However, here we go again accusing all of us of being envious. The more I think about, the more I understand how a teenager CAN afford the luxury of a new sports car.

1. Drug dealer
2. Won the lotto
3. Dad bought it
4. Drug smuggler
5. Never went to school and worked his whole life
6. Pimp or man-*****
7. Stole it
8. Made a deal with....

I don't know how anyone in HS can juggle school, get decent grades, get enough sleep, have a social life, AND work so much that they make the money to pay for a $40k car. Few part time jobs can meet those requirements. If that were the case, everyone would be able to buy all the mods they could get their hands on if their jobs paid that much.

So here's the deal: Don't do us any favors and try to school us on the facts of life. You will get owned, and you will most likely get banned.

Your friends still don't get it. You can tell us all you want about how hard you worked for your toys, but you still don't appreciate what you have and all you want to do is show off. Why else does a 19 year old need a Nismo Z?
SmoothZ......are you running for the presidency? Because if you are, you have my VOTE!

Don't like? Don't read it?

By the way.......will the OP be selling any parts from his dead Nismo? I mean, excluding the chunks that are not worth salvaging!

Moral of story: Don't bring your crash stories to the internet. Unless you're a 60 year old doctor who got hit by a drunk driver and has no previous accidents, it seems you're pretty much assured to be ripped apart in some fashion.

I'm going to skip the next 6 pages and get straight to "if you are behind the wheel of a car, then it IS in your hands." A member of my club put their '05 Roadie in a ditch during a club drive in May. He said he hit gravel and slid the car in the ditch, which I pretty much witnessed in my rearview mirror. He also said "I was obviously driving too fast and did not take into account that there might be gravel on a country road full of twisties and hills". You, on the other hand, tell us you wiped out in a straight line at 20 MPH, and it was out of your hands? I am thinking the difference is that Don is 60 something and you are a teenager. Just a thought and another reason why my 19 year old has yet to drive my Z. She does have 3 years in a Honda with a spotless record though.

Now that is the point most of us are attempting to make! I don't give my 3 year old daughter a knife and then let her run around the house! (She doesn't get a knife anyway......LOL). I, like you, are a parent.

That being said.......I was in an accident 4 months after buying my 350Z. Someone.....ohhhh, a little younger (for you sensitive youngins') decided that my exit lane belong to him! He drove right into the front quarter panel and took out the bumper, headlight and a sheeeet load of other goodies. After $6000-7000 estimated damages later his insurance company paid everything AND he was cited!

So, yes, we all have things happen to us and I am only asking to see the common denominator. In the OP case, well, HE is it!

I have to agree with 280zxt he was kind enough to include the photo's! Move on. Driver error or not who cares? It was an accident! I know I have had a couple stupid accidents where yes Dad had to pick me up at the ER. Lucky for me never a scratch on me. Also, what relevance is it who bought the F'in CAR? Its his car, he owns it, he drives it, its his to use as he pleases as long as it conforms to state laws. If it doesn't well then oh well........ Thats why tax payer dollars employ the 5-0

Get over it people. You sound retarded. I'm 30 and own a 60ft yacht, a Nismo, a new pickup, a fleet of 8 jet ski's and several boats. I choose to rent my place, never been married, have no kids and this is my lifestyle. You want to pick it apart for your own amusement then so F'in be it.. I don't give a flying F*^# Really.. Grow up..!!!!
Speaking of growing up, you "own a 60 ft yacht, a fleet of jet ski's (at what number does it actually become a "fleet"?) and several boats". So tell me how you made your millions at age 30 and have time to waste on a car forum? Win the Powerball or hit the daddy lottery? I'm 52, worked my a$$ off for the last 25 years in my own business, and still don't have millions in disposable income. I feel so insignificant lol. And the relevance of the entire thing is the total number of threads around here regarding teenagers wrecking their cars, as well as their lack of accepting any responsibility. We are just responding to trends. I feel bad for the guy, but not for the same reason HE is feeling bad.

Its called good solid HARD WORK!!! I work 40-70 hrs a week. I invested capital and also do side work in various hobby interests outside my own career! I guess it pays to enjoy going to work. As for the fleet of Jet ski's I have 8 Not a single one newer then 2000. I have no luv for Sofa's I make money and spend money. Never been a penny pincher.... I enjoy my toys now! I'm grown up and have nothing to prove. So why discuss my life? lol Sorry your not successful or lack drive to put in the extra long hours. Its called Work Hard and play Twice as Hard.

Judging by how many posts I have on this forum I don't spend every waking hour here! Sorry some of us WORK!!!

Told you so.
The truth about that, the truth with photos, truth with the information I knew to be factual, truth that I did not have all the information since I was not present and it was inappropriate to comment on details I could not confirm. But hey, that's me and how I personally roll.

Back to watching you guys now eat each other. Pretty funny to watch. I promise, I am laughing and it is not WITH you. Truth in that too.

Pretty funny when you think I've been playing with Z's as long as you have been alive.

For what its worth, another Z buddy that is 36, when he heard of this thread, stated, "I didn't know half of what I know now when I was 30."

Moral: Good news is you apparently have much to learn! Always look on the bright side of life...

Exactly the point some of us are trying to make.

I may be a little biased as I was hit by a 17 yr old 2 months after getting my G. Kid decided that a stop sign didn't apply to him.

Actually, everyone has a different reason to own a Z. I seriously doubt a 19 year old knows about the history of the Datsun and appreciates it like a 50 year old who has several Z's or grew up with them throughout the decades of generations.

Ironically, you're just like the rest of us by posting and accusing us of being non-supportive. I'd like to think that most of us do feel the pain if we were in some kind of accident, especially if we were driving responsibly and had our wits about us or if another car hit us.

How mature of you. Then again, we're all pots calling the kettle black.

Maybe a bit harsh, but I meant it. I know there are 'kids' out there that are decent. I know that some are hard workers and do well in school, sports, or whatever they like to get involved with. However, I don't think they go out and buy a $40k sports car just out of high school unless they made $40k in a summer job.

Seriously, I thought I knew everything and was invincible at the age of 19. I was wrong about some things....
1. Thank you for quoting me and showing that at no time did I use the word "envious". Nope, not there. I cannot help if that is what you want to see, but at no time did I use it.
2. I know several young folks that are into the older Z's. They are restoring, moding, etc. I support them whenever possible. I started in Z's when I was a teen 30 years ago. Really fun stuff. I will agree that many teens today have zero clue to the heritage. Heck, many "adults" are clueless to the heritage. I disagree with the blanket statement. That's all.
3. I did apologize in a pervious post about my comments about the one poster's grammer. I was wrong. I again apologize.
4. There are a limited number of "kids" that make money, lots of money and can buy $40k sports cars. I have personally seen several. I do not consider it the "norm", but it does exist. Just because you, me, or the next guy/gal didn't do it doesn't mean it does not happen. Again, avoid blanket statements.
5. I am very supportive of my friends, family and of strangers. If you actually knew me, you would undertand better than the internet will ever allow.
