Just finished bedding in the brakes. I think I did enough 60mph stops cuz my rotors are blue on the inside now lol.

Now that I've been able to hammer on the brakes more, I'm really wondering if there is more bite? And also brake fade started to happen after 6 or 7 stops which is the norm, but hopefully it doesn't happen so soon on the track.

Anyways, time to just chilllllll today cuz my whole body is sore.

Deepu I can help you with the lines if you find out if those are the correct parts, plus I have the flare wrenches already as well.

Hey there Deepu,

Let me know if you want me to take you lines back and pick up something else. I was thinking about going shooting at Double Action tomorrow or Wednesday after work. (14 mile and Dequinder). While I am up there, I was going to stop by Oakos and pick up some black McGard lugs for the wheels.

It's supposed to rain on Saturday, but you're welcome to come back and we can do those lines, bleed and change oil. This would be a good chance for me to change brake fluid and bleed.

LMK,
B

So good news, carbotech is giving me a full refund and paying for shipping to return the wrong pads. I also asked about my blue rotors and they said it was normal.

And out of paranoia, I went out to check to make sure I securely tightened all the banjo bolts for my ss lines, and they were tight. So really nothing else I can freak about, especially if the car drives completely normal lol.

Brian glad you and your family enjoyed the muffins

Wee! Passed inspection. 3% water in my brake fluid. I asked him to change it... so I'm going back Thursday morning to do that.

Thanks Brian, I still didn't get a chance to post a thread regarding the SS lines. Will do that after work and get back to you.

Lee, you got your inspection done already? I thought you were gonna go the same day as Rob on 8th. Cool man. Now I am the only one. I am debating buying a new set of tires, I guess I can't get away with the old ones for ZDayZ and Mid-Ohio on my way back.

I have a set of track tires that I only used once, but I would think the Enkei's look back compared to my stock Rays to attend ZDayZ. Should I drive the trip on Enkei's (17's)?

Rain is unpredictable on trips like this. Are your track tires OK for rain, loose gravel and occasional wet spots?

As far as looks, there are a bunch of track guys who will recognize that 17's on a NISMO = Track Junkie.

I trust the RE-11's over the Kumho's for the wet conditions, so I guess I need to buy another set now. The Kumho's kick *** once they warm up.

Deepu, we need a chase car for the track. I have a Subie WRX wagon, maybe I can convince one of my brothers to follow us to track events...we can store multiple sets of tires in there.

I won't laugh.. but I wouldn't even have known that it was a mod until I did a search on it ... (the start button).

How bout you paint the button, call it a mod, and save $39?

Yeah, me neither.

A buddy of mine used to do the Chimney Rock hill climb in his Fiat X1/9. He said "The crowd only remembers two kinds of cars in a race; the ones who go fast and the ones that look good! The latter is much cheaper."

Here's a sneak peak at yet another cosmetic mod of mine.
The wheels just came back from powdercoating. They had to blast the chrome and sand to get the powder to stick. But they came out great.

The color is called Aurora Borealis. In the shade, it is slate grey metallic.

In the sunlight, it has a spectrum effect that changes depending on your angle. Should be interesting when rolling.

Lee,
I have a new headunit on the way. It's a Pioneer 6-disc in-dash DVD player. (No NAV, I don't need it since I have factory NAV) Offer still open on the install? It won't be here till next week most likely.

It would be my first cosmetic 'mod' :P It's kinda silly, but I like it. Maybe I can find a junked GTR somewhere.

Man. Those should be interesting. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

Sweet! Sure thing. Have you ordered the harnesses and stuff for it yet? I haven't ever had to wire a Bose system.. lets hope it's not too bad.

^^ Ordering the kit from Crutchfield. The HU came from another retailer.

RE Wheels: I suspect you will hardly see the effect, which is fine with me. Dark metallic grey is what I wanted and this was an added feature to make it unique.

I think some folks use the Altima button (which lights up) or Honda S2000 red push button start.
