Yeah I have the patience and know-how, like I said I have all winter. Thank for the heads up on the fuel lines, I guess ill be purchasing some header wrap and get some heat shields for the lines.

just make sure you take your time, take enough brakes so that you wont get over frustrated and start braking **** and dont forget to use the lube on them bolts..

Headers, ouch.

You should get cams so you actually see a gain from them.

Cams don't cost less than $100.... Otherwise, I'd love to get a good set in my Z.

Speaking of which, I'm tempted to get my hands on the Osiris kit. I think it's time to upgrade the ECU and get the engine's full potential with my mods. What do you guys think?

I've got the exhaust, Crawford plenum, JWT intake. I think that's all the power mods I have.

on a DE, ecu tuning on a n/a setup is a waste IMHO. Not sure what it costs, but it won't likely gain you anything more than 3-4 hp. There isn't much that tuning a ligthly modified n/a setup will get you. I would at the very least get a couple runs and see where your AFRs are before you spend the money

OK headers might be a waste now but they will help with future mods such as a supercharger.

Dave get some cams and a osiris tune.

Yeah, if I get cams and other chit for the engine I would most definitely have to do a tune.

I would never want to do a cam install unless I had all the tools, the right tool shop, plenty of time, and some help. As a matter of fact, I think it would be cool to have a standby engine to work on and do a practice run install.

Can anyone say auto mechanic shop? I wish they had that on the weekends for guys like me.

for cams you will need the complete service manual for the Z or if you ask nicely I'll let you borrow mine, some know how and patience In the end is it worth it I thought so. Or if you wanted too you could spend another $1400 on installation to have someone else do it... As far as an engine I've been looking for a 2nd one for awhile now looking to get a good deal on one. Dave, you should skip the cams and get some 3.9 or 4.08 gears, they're awesome and alot cheaper than the cams.

Damn, those 408 gears are over $1k including the swap or core charge. Z ology sells them fully completed. I thought cams were around $800 to $1k. No matter what, the install charge will be huge.

To be honest I think the gearing on the Z is fast enough just my opinion, but yes dave cams are anywhere from 700-1300, i was talking about installation would run ya close to 1400, which is absolutly redicoulous.(spelling, I'm to buzzed to look up how to spell it correctly)

Damn you Greg. I'm thirsty and want a beer now. I kinda knew you meant the amount would include the labor, but it sounds like the install for the rear diff would be a little easier than the cams. Yes? I agree that it's a lot of money to install those cams, though. I don't know how labor intensive that is, but I'm sure it's not easy.

$470 for the gears? That's crazy cheap! I just pm'd Z ology about his FS thread. I guess he's a Nissan tech that does those in his spare time. Still, it comes out to over $1k after the core return and shipping. And that doesn't include the install charges.
