This site goes down faster than a desperate *****. I just lost my big post. Oh, well.
I think I like my 3.5 gears since the speeds and times are comparably even with the other shorter gears (after 1st and 2nd).
I've always wanted cams for the Z. Wouldn't that be the shiznit for a winter project in a nice, warm, large garage?

f^ck that, my days of working on cars are over. I will GLADLY pay to have it done for me..... and my fee to do installs on other cars would just not be competitive
Cams are a b1tch and way too invasive for me to want to get involved. I have seen these motors apart and know how many million potential ways there are to mess them up. To do cams, you will be looking at taking off the front timing covers and nearly taking off the heads to do so. Adjusting valve lash, etc.
As far as rear end gears, I would be happy to help on a pumpkin swap, but not swapping out the actual gears. I absolutely hate gear lube and will not willingly volunteer my time for a project that involves messing around with that stinky ****.
edit:
In case you all missed it, I am now driving a minivan. I am an old lazy man now.

Practical maybe...but not old and lazy.
Cams are not in my future any time soon unless I win the lottery and have the time and money.

^I agree. The car is comfortable, the power is unexpecting from a 4 banger, and the tranny shifts smooth as butter.
Plus my mom got 27m[pg doing 90mph. This is by far the most fuel efficient car we have ever owned LOL.
I am bringing it up to Fargo for 3 days to see how she performs on the interstate and long drives. Also to break it in a bit more (500 miles on just the interstate alone back and forth)
Pretty excited. it is a nice car especially for the price (0 down, $320 a month)

My van gets 99mpg when going downhill.
Hush yo mouf, Greg! Dammit, this is an actual real Fall season! We still get to enjoy walking dogs, doing yard work, and whatever else needs doing w/o snow and ice.
